The Seven Last Words

Not Accurate
I purchased the paperback version in 2018 and wished to share some it with a friend. I then bought the Kindle version so that I could get the electronic version and thus copy to paragraph or two instead of typing them. While doing this I noticed that in the "The Fourth Word" chapter of the Kindle version is missing a paragraph. I find this unacceptable and unprofessional to provide a work as complete and merely in a different format: Kindle, Paperback and Hardcover. When reviewing this book with the Kindle selection highlighted the following is the last sentence in the description section: "This unabridged Sheen's edition will become a source of inspiration anyone with spiritual aspirations will treasure." Obviously this is not true.

Wonderfully disturbing.
When disturbed, our physical responses are heightened, all our senses on edge. Our vision acute, aware and focused. This book was meant to envoke that part of our human nature. To give us the gift of vision into the love and Grace of God. This is a book that everyone should read and re-examine each Lenten season. An insight into the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the unimaginable love of God.

The first 3 words addressed to enemies, sinners, saints
The intro to this classic @ Amazon have surety that it would be worth not just scanning but reading in total at some point. It's dedication to "Queen of Seven Swords"(a book by that title is authored by G H Chesterton) gives even more of a leaning to read his book thoroughly. Chapter 1 addressed not only the 1st word but the 2nd & 3rd word as well even though they are given more clarity in succeeding chapters. Definitely one of the classics good for Lenten readings.

One of the most touching and beautiful books regarding Jesus' last words spoken from the Cross
This is a short pamphlet written by one of the greatest American authors who wrote numerous books about God besides his Emmy award winning television program in the 1950's "Life is Worth Living." The Seven Last Words are the 7 sentences Jesus spoke while dying on the cross. This is a MUST HAVE for the Lenten season or any time of the year. Fulton Sheen writes like a poet in that he touches your heart and your soul so deeply and his descriptions are so beautifully phrased! He writes about the meaning of Christ's messages and what he wanted us to know; the Cross was his last pulpit and the lessons are magnificent. Only God could teach such beautiful, loving words in the throes of his agony. It is short but so full of wisdom. I urge everyone to purchase this pamphlet and read it. It will change you; you will understand even more fully the incredible depth of God's love for all of us.

Moving riveting perfect lenten meditation.
Ihas the privilege of hearing Venerable Sheen present these Seven Last Words as a seminarian. The text brought back the memory and Sheen's passion awakening the soul and presenting in an unforgettable manner the price paid for our salvation. No other text approaches the realism here. An absolute must read

Beautiful, haunting, eloquent and serious.
This is a beautiful and haunting book of prayer and reflection. The the book has a gorgeous cover painting of the crucifixion scene of Lord Jesus in the middle of the two criminals and those gathered around in grief around the foot of the cross. It was painted by an artist named, Tiziana Matarazzo. It is s short, succinct and poetically eloquent masterpiece; prayerful and meditative. Fulton J. Sheen words speak profoundly as ever in this small but powerful book.
