100% Worth it
I have a 9 month old Golden Retriever, super super well behaved, she loved taking sticks home, making a mess and eating them. Out of no where she started chewing on the wood crown molding as well as my bed frame. I did homework on dog chews, didn’t get plastic stuff, didn’t get the deer/elk antlers, and I found this thing. It’s been about 2ish weeks now and she still loves this thing. It’s not as hard as deer antlers so I’m not worried about her harming her teeth, it’s not soft enough to just shred and make a mess, and she’ll just pick this thing up and go to town for a while. It’s been about two weeks, it’s still in good shape, and she still loves it. Only product review I’ve ever written, 100% glad I bought this. Hasn’t chewed anything in the house since.

Medium or Large? Save some money… get the “medium”.
These ROOT CHEWS came highly recommended from our breeder. We ordered two, one “medium” for our rapidly growing puppy and one “large” for an adult dog. The medium arrived first, with the large arriving one day later. The large root we received isn’t much larger than the medium. One weighs 10.1 oz while the other comes in at 9.4 oz. Puzzling… and rather disappointing… the large one our breeder has is obviously bigger than either of the ones we received. The root itself is best described as “raw”… there is no dirt in any of the various voids, no idea how they clean them so thoroughly. Initially there are some small, easily broken bits on the chew… these all came loose after about an hour of chewing. A little bit messy at first, but easily cleaned up. Whatever bits our dogs ingested haven’t caused any issues. After about a week of rather intense chewing, the root shows little wear… I’m expecting these to last quite awhile… and our 4 dogs ( 9 weeks - 6, 7 and 10 years) all love chewing on them.

Perfect for aggressive chewers
I have a husky/gsd mix and she’s in the chewing phase. As per a ruined coffee table and recently replaced trim she obviously preferred wood to the hundreds of apparently unsuitable chew toys we presented as an offering. In an effort to appease the alligator…er um dog, I purchased this lump of wood. I felt ridiculous buying a piece of wood but here we are amiright? Bless whoever this seller is, it’s done the trick, it’s outlasted her and as I’m not a carpenter I’m more than relieved. Worth the purchase!

Poor durability, inconsistent product, unsafe for heavy chewers
I had previously ordered this large root chew for my dog, and appreciated the durability of it and the fact that my dog seemed to love it. I reordered again after the first one wore down and received one that was flat, and only about 1/2” thick. It splintered within a minute of giving it to my dog. I am disappointed in the quality of the new item.

Great Chew, Bad Staining, Small Pieces Everywhere
I'm very conflicted with this review. My dog loves the chew and it seems to have lasted forever, but it deeply stains red-brown any fabric surface it's on (bed sheets, carpet, etc.) and leaves tons of particles. My dog likes hoovering around to chew up all the small bits after a session, but this is not something you want on your sofa as pieces will fall into all the cushion cracks. As long as you don't care about the staining, I'd heartily suggest trying this chew for large dogs that destroy things like KONG toys, nylon chews, thick rawhide, etc. It doesn't have any scent, it's very easy to spread a little peanut butter or other flavor on the chew, and it's by far the most affordable chew I've purchased when you consider how many chew sessions it lasted.

A teething pup must
The media could not be loaded. Great item and very durable, I have a 4 month old puppy and he loves to chew on this until he is worn out.

Breaks off in chunks
After letting my dogs chew on this for a while I started to notice little gravel like pieces on the floor. Some had pretty rough edges and can be sharp. Could be easy for dog to swallow so if purchasing please be on lookout to pick these up before your dog tries to eat it.
