I have this mat for months now. I'll address some issues that have been brought up and give somes stats.Pros:The mat is gorgeous, heavy, and sturdy. It stays in place and provides great padding. It is very comfortable. I love how it feels on my skin. It's microfiber and so it feels super soft (I'm a bit of a sensualist). Some people slip but I have not had a problem with this. I am a muscular guy though and weigh 180 lbs. There's a lot more friction between me and the mat then someone at 120lbs. Other people have suggested to wet the mat or to use it only for hot yoga. I use it for all my yoga, ab workouts, and stretches and have not had issues.I've had mats in the past with cheap elastic straps that eventually gave out. The strap for this is a sturdy and strong cotton. The weight of the mat and the thick strap means the mat isn't falling out, ever. I've rode my bike 20 miles with this mat slung over my shoulder and didn't need to worry. The strap doubles up as a stretch strap which is great.

I purchased this mat back in the beggining of march and I fell in love. It's exactly what I was looking for in a yoga mat, dry and wet traction, doesn't slip around on the studio floor whatsoever not too thick that you can't balance on it but just thick enough so that do Pilates and yoga floor poses comfortably. A week ago my mat was stolen from my gym locker and so I ordered a new one. Same exact color and Item number. And when the new mat came it was totally different than my other one. My mom has the same mat I originally had and I compared the two mats, and through they're similar... the quality is so much lower on my new mat! I posted pictures and you can see the design is different than what is shown above. The mat is the same rubber material on the bottom and the same soft material on the top but it is significantly thinner and lighter which I am not at all happy about especially since the price is the same. The fact that what I got is different from the pictures they show is pretty deceitful and disappointing. Maybe it's the color I got which was the blueish grey. I am going to call the sellers, (Asan point), and hopefully they will take care of this.

I bought this mat for my hot yoga classes, but it didn't hold up. I like the design and feel of the mat. There was a sweet spot maybe 15 minutes into the class where I was just a little bit sweaty and the mat was just barely wet and was grippy. But after 30 minutes with more sweat it was just plain slippery. I didn't feel safe doing anything on it. So it may be good for a class where you can mist it to make it just a little bit wet but don't actually sweat on it. But if it's dry or gets sweat on it, it's pretty useless.

I really thought that this would be the best yoga mat that I have ever purchased. Unfortunately all of the five star reviews were from customers who received the product for free. Although the mat is beautifully designed and well padded, it is far too slippery for regular practice. It would be ideal for hot yoga but I wouldn't recommend to anyone who plans on using this for home practice. It was nicely packaged and I received it on time, but not what I was expecting. I am a little disapointed and would have returned if Amazon hadn't made it so difficult. The mat itself lacks flaw and well made for sure

Love this mat! Wipes off easily, and has wonderful suede texture. It is twice as heavy as my old mat, which may be a deterrent for some. It can be a bit slippery if you forget to ground yourself, but if you are holding positions properly you shouldn't have a problem. I used it for about two months and it's not showing any wear.

Too slippery overpriced for what it is

I love this mat! I am a heavy sweater when I work out and I very much enjoy power yoga classes in heated rooms so I needed a mat that would have a bit of grip so I wouldn't slide around. This mat fits that purpose & I'm still using it 4-6 times a week after a year and four months!

I love this mat. I am a yoga instructor- Iv'e never done "Hot yoga". I teach a power/Vinyasa style. I was worried I would slip the way I do on a yoga towel, not the case. I find this mat has good grip and plenty of cushion for the knees and tail bone while in "boat pose". It's important when looking for a high-quality Mat, it should be both firm for stability with "firm" cushioning for comfort. The soft fabric feels comforting in shavasana. I think the more I use it, the better the grip has become. In the beginning I used to dampen the hands and feet area before practice. I also really love the way I can spin and glide around in different positions on it because of the softness of the fabric. I would say, my most "loved" mat out of the many- many I have owned over the years. Heavy quality feels like it will last a lifetime :) but we shall see.
