Brian Tracy is like a parent who gives you advice from his lifetime. In a part of the book, he says how he would apply the principles he learned sporadically and achieve some success, and then for some reason or another things would go back to the way they were. It wasn't until he consciously and consistently applied the principles he learned that success became more constant.I was that person. My life became so much better since reading "The Power of Self Discipline." For a while I enjoyed immense success in all of my goals, and gradually I stagnated. I didn't think it made such a difference. It wasn't until reading this book again that I realized what a tremendous, positive influence his books made, how much of my success I owe to him. I only wish I had read this sooner.A lot of people will say, "self help books don't work." I consciously choose to ignore these people. I have seen measurable results already once again in all areas of my life, materially, physically, and emotionally. "I'll just reread the notes I took from the other book," I told myself. No, it is a completely different experience to read the entire book, whichever one you choose by Brian Tracy.He is the grandfather we all needed. (I hope he is not that old, but his tone is so warm, humble, and wise.) I hope to be one of the people that write to him about the success they've received since hearing him talk, but not yet. I have not achieved all of the success I want yet.I will make it a point to read a book by him every first of the month.

This is a great book to learn how to build your self confidence!!

This is a wonderful book about improving self-esteem. The exercises from the book work and this is a pleasure to have confidence in every action I take.

I didn't quite enjoy the over "you can do it" pep talks and I felt like they overshadowed some very solid points. However I do get why some might find this encouraging and quite useful.The book does present excellent ideas. Even though some might feel obvious when you read them, the way they are layed out is quite impressive.

My husband recommended this book because I've struggled over the years with low self-confidence and poor self-esteem. I resisted reading it for a while, thinking its approach sounded simple and formulaic--not intellectual enough to help or challenge me. From the opening words, however, I was compelled and inspired. The entire book maintains a strong drumbeat of action-oriented encouragement and advice.Inspirational and wise, the book hits its stride by offering concrete, practical steps, as the subtitle promises, for "becoming unstoppable, irresistible and unafraid in every area of your life." Overstated? Perhaps a little. What I found, however, was enough inspiration plus "perspiration" in the book's action steps, virtues and values to make a measurable difference in my work life, personal relationships and overall achievements. I only wish I'd discovered this book when I was starting my career. But as Brian Tracy would say, it's never too late to grow, climb and make a difference.Some say this is one of the author's best books. I've only looked at one other--the one on reinventing yourself. This book, by far, is the stronger choice. If you need a big boost of self-confidence, and long to learn the steps to acquire it, here's a great book to buy, study and keep. Great for sharing with others, too. Five-star rating!

Really gives you a good perspective on dif ways to look at building the foundation of self confidence

This work of Brian Tracy is an inspiration. With decades of teaching, Brian has compiled a program that has it all: how to navigate your selfworth, your doubt and successes to the place we all dream of: feeling GOOD, feeling HAPPY, feeling SUCCESSFUL and worth while living. The CD set is packed with great concepts presented in Brians warm and profesional fashion to inspire everybody.Just a warning. A "beginner" might be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of methods, hints, and to do's Brian offers. Beginners: just hear the first 10 minutes ... stop the program ... and DO it !!! - Of course, listening only will not change anything.Great value, great inspiration! Brian Tracy at his best!

No so light a book. Makes you really think about yourself. What you've done right and what you have done wrong and how to move forward in a positive wayChapters end with questions for you to answer about yourself. I think it's very well put together and helpful if you follow through.
