Great value for the price
Make no mistake, this isn't a super-duper fancy unit - at 30 bucks it isn't intended to be. What is it, though, is a really, really good starter unit to make sure you're not going to spend $200, use it twice, and then put it into a closet somewhere. It's got great power and great sealing capability.Cons - and again, for 30 bucks these are less cons than "what you can expect for 30 bucks". The sealing chamber is a little bit of a pain to clean. The heating strip is very sticky when hot and takes up to 30 seconds to release the chamber open - you can pry it open with a spoon or something but really shouldn't. The heating strip also is very loosely attached and can sometimes be pulled up with the bag, so watch out you don't tear it all the way out.Totally worth it for 30 bucks. I bought a bigger fancier one because I use it a ton so this one is in the kitchen for super light duty uses instead of the basement where I do all my bulk prep.Tips (and this goes for all sealers):Don't be a cheapskate like I am and try to skimp on your bags. Cut them long and don't overfill trying to save that last 1/2". Longer bags get a much better seal.Stack a cutting board or two in front of the machine before using - make sure the food is on the same plane as the heating element. When just laying on the counter it's a good 2" below the lip of the unit and air flow can be restricted and leave your bags with bubbles. Raise the meat up to the same level to make it easier to suck all air out.Don't overdo the suction! I was horrible at this, I wanted to get every last milligram of air out, but all this does is smash your meat, pull out juices, and get juices into the sealing part of the bag and jeopardize the integrity of the seal. Once the bag smooshes down tight just stop there and immediately seal. I get way better results this way.

Impressed
Ok. This is the first vacuum sealer I've ever owned. So I had a learning curve at first. But now I'm totally thrilled with it. At first, I was placing the bags incorrectly and was disappointed that the vacuum wasn't good enough. Then I discovered that I had to place both sides of the bag under the little clips. I place my bags bumpy side down (don't know if this matters or not). After that I had a few successful vacuum seals. Then I inadvertently covered the inlet port with the bag. Disappointment again. So it appears that when I do my part correctly, the machine works like a charm. I couldn't be more pleased. Especially considering the price. It does seem that the 8" bags would be the maximum fit for vacuum and seal. But that's okay with me for now. I wanted this to preserve my dehydrated produce for longer shelf (freezer) life and to conserve space. So I'm pleased with this gadget!

Works great and very compact compared to others
my first vacuum sealer, and i'm quite happy with this product. it's one of my best amazon lightning deals. it's compact and the instructions are clear. it also comes with a variety of starter bags, which worked great for helping me learn not just how to use it, but also what size bag i need for my day to day use. really helpful before jumping in and buying 100 bags of something that is too big or small. i have already recommended it to people i know.

Great Vaccume sealer
I saw my friend has one of this in his house and I am very impressed with this how easy to use comparing to other products avaliable on the market. It is compact with a clean and simple design. the vaccume power is great, I tested this with some broccoli and it sucks all the air outta that bad boy XD. It also comes with 10 big bags and 10 smaller ones, saves me some money on buying bags.Update: After a period of time of usage, it is a decent product. One thing about it is the sealing is very smelly after use.

Wobbly and won't work
The machine I received was wobbly. It will not stay straight on the kitchen countertop. The $30 vacuum sealer machine I purchased from Amazon for $30 in 2018, which stopped working after 1 year of use, was 10 times better made than this one. Even worse, the machine didn't function. It will not seal, I read the poorly written instruction booklet over and over again to see if I was doing something wrong....but that wasn't the case. I question if the reviews written about this product are valid.

Quite surprised....
....that this sealer performs as well as it does. My OLD sealer -which was a lot more expensive- finally gave up and was not suctioning anymore. I compared all the different items before I bought this- this one got good reviews and was inexpensive, so I ordered it.First- it is so compact, sturdy, and so easy to store or keep on the counter if you have the spaceTwo- it is easy to operate but the first time might be frustrating. It needs to be clicked on the side and then, when you are done, you need to release the suction valve on top so you can unlock the sides again. It is easy once you get the hang of it (a few times) so not really an issue.Three- it looks good and seems to be well made, and easy to clean.I bought one as well for my daughter's household-so, I am a happy customer...
