Unbelievable results from this book - try it!
I'm reluctant to describe this as a "diet" - it's more a tutorial in healthy eating, which sounds uninspiring doesn't it? But the results are phenomenal. The 28 day plan is very cleverly tailored to suit the working lifestyle (saving half of supper for lunch the next day) and there are no fancy ingredients; just about everything you need can be bought from a local shop - Dr. Braude has made it as easy as possible. The meal portions are generous too - my husband has a big appetite and found the meals very satisfying (okay, maybe not the vegetable quinoa, but he's learning!). Now we know what we should and shouldn't be eating, so we cook slightly more adventurous, spicy recipes and my interest in cooking has at last been rekindled. In 10 weeks, I've lost over a stone and my husband has lost well over 2 stone, but the REAL reward from eating this way is how much better we feel; our whole metabolisms just seem to be "sorted" - no more bloaty, uncomfortable stomachs, energy slumps or general lethargy. My cholesterol level has dropped from 5.6 to 3.2 - how cool is that?! It's incredible that just eating well can have such an effect - we take no supplements, it's purely down to this book - I can't recommend it enough.

Fabulous results
I loved the meal plans, and the fact that I can switch meals around so I don't have to try and eat things I really don't like (beetroot!). I have lost about 5 stones following the principles of this diet for 11 months - now down to a UK size 12 and very happy. I have tried plenty of diets over the years, but this is an eating plan that I intend to follow for the rest of my life and where I feel great - fit and healthy, with good skin and loads of energy which is not bad for someone who is now nearly 60. I've recommended this plan to others and bought a copy for my sister who has lost 10 kilos in 6 weeks. Further proof if it were needed that this works. No hesitation at all about recommending this plan.

What about us 'Elderlies'?
I like the well written way it is presented. I think that if I was younger, the recipes would appeal to me a lot more. As an 'elderly' I find that much of the vegetables (which in the past, I normally cook in boiling water) have to be steamed or lightly done. Elderly people are not fond of nearly raw veg due to difficulty in chewing/swallowing etc.. I'm now deliberately cooking the veg for a longer time. If I don't do this, it is a bit like asking me to eat like a rabbit and turn me out to grass. I'm determined to complete this diet because I think it has a lot to teach me. Who knows, in about 5/6 weeks, I might return so as to award 5 stars to a very promising diet. So yes, I recommend this diet to you.

Great eating plan!
This is a fantastic way of eating AND loosing weight. Only on Day 6 so far but feeling so much more alert and energised and loosing weight at the same time! Very easy to follow and never hungry!

Doesn't feel like a Diet at all, but works!
Really impressed with the Food Effect Diet. It doesn't feel like a diet at all and in fact we're eating more than we did before, losing a lot of weight and feeling good too! It's actually hard to imagine ever fully reverting to the way we ate before. We bought the book because we saw it reviewed in The Times and they also printed a 28 day summary sheet. That is the only thing I would say is missing. It IS in the book, but a downloadable summary level 28 day plan would be easier to refer to on a day to day basis than carrying the book around all the time. Excellent book and eating plan.

What a fantastic book. Easy to follow day-by-day menus which are not only easy to follow but really tasty and super healthy. I had struggled losing extra pounds for months but following this way of eating I have shed 7lbs in first 28 days. It is now a total way of life for me eating this way and certainly doesn’t feel like a diet. And I haven’t had to give up carbs or chocolate!!! Well done Dr Braude.

Best book that changed my life
This book is the the best I have ever read. It is clear and easy to read, offering great information and delicious, healthy recipes. It has put me on a healthy eating path which I haven't been able to follow elsewhere. Highly reccomended

Excellent, sensible advice!
The most sensible diet book I have read! Scientific explanations, great advice, menus and recipes excellent! Thoroughly enjoying following the plan, never hungry, in fact there is often too much to eat!
