Gorgeous, sturdy, flip‑height stool… but my kid’s glutes are not impressed (yet) 😂
As a family‑medicine doc and mom of a chronically constipated kiddo, I spend more time talking about poop than the average human. So when I went hunting for a “pooping assist device,” I wanted something that was sturdy, not plasticky, and didn’t scream “GI issues live here” to every guest who uses our bathroom. Enter this Squatty Potty Bamboo Flip Stool. What I love: • Packaging & assembly: Arrived in its original box, no damage. All pieces were neatly packed. Once you line up the panels, it’s wildly easy to assemble—screws and protective caps go in smoothly. I had it fully put together in just a few minutes. • Design & aesthetics: The bamboo is beautiful in person. It looks like intentional bathroom furniture, not medical equipment. If you walked into our bathroom, you’d just think “oh, nice stool,” not “someone here needs help pooping.” • Flip feature (two heights): I really appreciate that you can flip it for a lower or higher position. That makes it more versatile for different toilet heights and for kids vs adults. The “real life” part: I originally bought this for my daughter who struggles with constipation. She was willing to try it (small miracle), but once she got into position, she felt like the angle put more pressure on her legs and glutes from the toilet seat. So for her body and our toilet, it wasn’t instantly comfortable, and she’s not a fan… yet. My plan is to pair this with a cushioned toilet seat and see if that solves the pressure issue. Worst case, the adults in the house get a very classy way to optimize bathroom biomechanics. Bottom line: Beautiful, sturdy, easy to assemble, and I love the two‑height flip feature. For our family, it’s a win aesthetically and structurally, but we’re still troubleshooting comfort for my constipated kiddo. I’d still call it a solid, well‑made upgrade over plastic options—and a nice, discreet addition to any bathroom.

Can't believe I waited this long to purchase
The best investment you can make for your toilet time. Good quality. Eat to put the 4 pieces together. Looks good, not cheap. Grips well to not move when using it, but easy to move out to use after seated. This version does not fold, it can flip for two different height toilets. You'll have the best poops of your life using the Squatty Potty. I would gift it to everyone if I could.

Really like the bamboo, assembly is very easy!
Purchased this honestly just to see what the fuss was about and because it’s bamboo and not plastic. Nice to have some natural color for a change! Assembles just fine. Beware of people who lack assembly skills and then leave reviews showing their ignorance. The screws fit perfectly in the grooved (recessed) holes of each side block so that when you install the plastic cap (if you want), it fits flush. You do have to hand tighten the screws so they fit inside the groves slightly. Some people just don’t understand how to assemble things. There is only one correct way to assemble this and you don’t even need the instructions, you just need to understand that the clear feet (already pre-installed) will go on the floor in one of two configurations (7 inch or 9 inch). The flip is from side to side. Could not have been easier, it works and that’s what matters. In both configurations the foot rest angles down and that’s ok because the whole point is to lift the heels of your feet in order to angle your butt directly into the toilet. You’re not getting your shoes shined, you are going number 2! Watch out and don’t fall in! Will be interesting to see if it makes any difference. I really like both height options without anything more than just flipping the stool to the desired height. No adjustments, no folding, no nothing. It’s just right there ready to be used either way you like. I found the 7 inch to be more comfortable on a toilet seat that is 16 inches off the floor. I’m 5’11” if that helps you. The bamboo is solid, and smooth, but I did notice some unfinished edges. Nothing to cause injury, but it’s not all perfectly smooth, it is natural bamboo after all! Don’t let that stop you, the surfaces for your feet are just fine and good quality. I’ll buy another one for the guest bathroom, you never know if someone you know needs one, so might as well give them the option! Watch out stomping your feet into them, it does stick out a little, even when under the toilet.

Better than the original plastic verison
This bamboo version was at an AirBnB I stayed at and I liked it so much more than the original SP. Its overall width, height options and angle is much better. I like that it fits under the bowl without getting in the way of using the toilet in general when it’s not needed and it’s more narrow width is way more comfortable for my legs (5’4 height— the original SP made my legs have to spread out so far that my knees wanted to come together thus it really hurt my legs to use— so maybe if you have long legs, or like to man-spread when you use it, you’d be ok with the original plastic size 🤷🏻♀️)

Worth it!
This is great quality. Its dove tail is not perfect but it works. It might be best just to put a bread of clear caulk where the 2 sides meet. It is sturdy, the flip is perfect, it is beautiful and takes up minimal space. It is a great upgrade from our old squatty potty. And it really done help you go #2

Lasted about three years with daily use
I purchased this on October 3, 2023, and it broke on January 29, 2026. Fine looking product. If you have a small space, I would suggest purchasing a foldable one instead. When the product first began to feel loose in the legs, I instinctively tried tightening the bolts. That did not help with the looseness. Now that it broke apart. I can see it ripped apart at a glued section not bolted section, so the design could’ve been better.

Ausgezeichnet. Erfüllt seinen Zweck perfekt. Die zwei Höhenoptionen sind super und erleichtern die Bewegung deutlich. Leicht, stabil und einfach zu reinigen. Excellent. Does the job perfectly. The two height options are great and really help with movement. Lightweight, sturdy, and easy to clean.

Not bamboo. Not big enough for standard toilets.

I've bought and assembled three of these bamboo squatty pottys - two for me and then one as a gift. I love them, they look good, will help you do the best poos of your life, and afterwards tuck away so neatly against the toilet bowl. They were easy to put together for a complete novice like me, and actually kinda fun. I'm 51kg and put my whole weight on them while squatting over the dunny, and they feel completely safe and solid. I'm sure they could easily take more weight too, but I haven't asked anyone to test that out...
