A classic read
My eight year old was so excited to continue the Laura Ingalls Wilder series and read about her daughter Rose. She loved the book and looks forward to reading the rest of the series.

10 year old book review
I am 10 years old and am a HUGE fan of the little house on the prairie, when I saw in the back of the book that I was reading that Laura's daughter had a series I immediately went and told mom. Later that year mom and dad got me the first three books in the series. When mom was reading me a another book review for an example I found out that a bunch of pages were missing, I knew that I wanted to see if the library had a full copy, mom told me that the missing pages were probably taken out so that the size did not intimidate young readers, but, for a girl that reads about a chapter book every day, I am not scared to read big books. The books are a good inspiration for young people and to help us to realize how lucky us kids are these days. One of the only things that I do not like is how mean some of the girls are to Laura and Rose, but when the payback is dealt it is dealt well. the book is great, I would highly recommend this book to all young readers.

Great Continuating of the Little House Series
The first of several books written by someone who knew Rose (daughter of Laura and the main character of these books). The books are great for those who want more after reading the Little House series. The books are a little less dramatic, in that the family does not run into danger of being swept away by a river, dying of starvation or frostbite, or being killed by Indians; but still a warming set of books that the family can read together. This books chronicles the travels of Wilder family from South Dakota to Rocky Ridge Missouri. I highly recommend the books if you are interested in reading of the continuing story.

Little Prairie, The Next Generation!
I am the father of 9 trying to read ahead of them to keep the trash out of their heads. Wish me well.Enjoyed it. Not quite as good as the original series, but still great.Shows good work ethic, how you have to maintain a good outlook and hope, even when there sometimes isn't much reason to do so and just keep churning till you are into the clear. Good life lessons.Would let any age range read this.

Rose's Story
I love the little house series, the Rose books are no different. This one is the beginning of the series. The reading is easier and follows the same type of reading as the other Little House books. I was happy that the style didn't sway much from the books Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote. I was also pleased to see that it was Rose's friend that wrote the books using stories that she told him throughout their friendship. There are reviews about a Photographic cover. This is a different edition, sold on a different page. The version with the girl in a red dress in the field, the book this page is for, is a 353 page book (including the Author's Note) and has the drawing image on the title. This is not the shortened version.

I would say pass (as does my 5 & 7 year old)
My daughter loves the Little House series, and while I’m not fond of everything written in them, they have allowed my daughter and I to communicate real issues and thus, win win. This book, and the series in general are just lacking. There is just something missing where the books themselves are very bland. Some of the historical information is a bit off (which can be the case in the little house as well and I understand that). Being that these books were written at a later time I would have liked to see more historical accuracy, personal preference. This series was also just not all that interesting. It was rather boring and it didn’t contain the light hearted ness of the little house series that makes it so loeveable. These books are more tragic and just to suitable in my option to be compared to the others.I wouldn’t recommend. You aren’t going to have your child walk away a better person or really cling to this series. The vocabulary isn’t up to par, it’s a tragic book, kindness doesn’t really resonate through. Save yourself some time.Sarah Noble while not a series and a rather short book is a great balance when reading little house. A much better treatment a view of Native Americans and helps your child have a more realistic view of history.
