My mouth is watering!
Although I have never been to New Orleans, it is high on my list of places to visit! I am a foodie and know that the eating will be incredible. This book brought it all to life for me and I now have plans to visit this year. I love the way the book is laid out-by areas of the city. The photos, recipes and reviews of each restaurant are phenomenal. The only thing I would like to have seen was a map showing all the restaurants in relation to the city as I am not familiar with it. Great job, can't wait to use this as my "guide" on where to eat when I get there!

Pretty Cover
I love when cookbooks do a nice cover. I'm a designer & select a lot of my books by their cover (even though they say you shouldn't). I'm using this one to display in the kitchen of a model home in Louisiana. Very happy.

Nice pictures.
I think they picked some of the more complicated recipes of the region. There is very little to be learned from this book but there are some good photos.

Good cajun recipes!!!
The cajun recipes in this book seem very easy to make and the photos of the food are beautifully done.

I wanted to like this book,
but I don't. The pictures are beautiful, and the recipes look great. However, this book just seems like a mish-mash of recipes. There is no unifying factor. There are some fine dining restaurants and a bizarre selection of small restaurants. Even though this book is not very old, a number of profiled restaurants are out of business. If this book were more focused, it would be much better. There's a lot about food in New Orleans, and it certainly can't be covered in its entirety in less than 200 pages.
