It works, and works well.
I wanted to check the accuracy of the pH sensor our pool had. I also hate using those tester strips which require identifying if the colour is light yellow or pale amber... I mean, really? Plus those strips are calibrated for a specific temperature, so any result you get with them will likely be wrong if your water temp is outside the norm. Anyhow, I hunted around and this seemed to be the one a lot of people recommended. It came in a neat little kit that included everything you needed in a hard shell case - although I'd recommend also buying some extra storage solution as the included amount will not last long.Use is super easy, and it automatically adjusts for temperature. You can also modify the settings so the backlight changes colour if the reading is outside the ideal numbers. I wondered why the case had an empty spot, then I realised that was so you could stand the tester up with the cap filled with storage solution. A really nice touch. If you want to keep it in the case with the lid closed, you just need to remember to store it on the side so there is less chance of leakage from the cap. Keep in mind that if you store it in tap, pool, or distilled water that could damage and permanently impact the accuracy of the tester. They do say that if it is stored dry, then that will also impact the accuracy of the sensor, but this can be fixed by soaking it in storage solution for a few days. Personally, I'd just get the storage solution - it's not expensive, the cap only requires a small amount, and you don't have to replace it after every use so a bottle will last a while. As for accuracy - I don't have a lab quality reference device to test it against, but it definitely appears to be more than accurate enough at least for testing a pool at home. I can't say anything about longevity as I've only had it now for a few weeks, but the sensor is replaceable plus it appears to be well made - so I think it should last well if treated with the care something like this deserves. They do have a newer version of this that has bluetooth and a "new improved sensor". For me this is more than good enough I think, I don't really have any need to track the readings over time, and as much as I am a geek the additional cost didn't really seem to justify it.Overall, very happy with this tester.

Good quality, easy to use
I've been quite pleased with this pH meter. It's easy to calibrate and works well. It comes nicely packaged with everything you need to get started. You will want to purchase a bottle of KCl solution as it only comes with a small amount. Really helps me keep closer tabs on the pH of my hot tub, which is often hard to stabilize.

Good PH Testing Kit
Needed to PH water tester and after lots of research opted for the Apera PH60. Research easily indicated that going with one of the cheap ($10-$15) testers would lead to inaccurate and frustrating results over time so I decided to spend more and get a quality tester. When I purchased this kit, the price was a good value for all that was included and a strong factor in the decision. It has since jumped up by 25% so I got lucky with good timing. Still, the testing probe is well made, readable numbers with backlight and results have been accurate. I did a calibration upon arrival and it was pretty much right on form the start. The kit includes small bottles of 3 calibration solutions and buffering solution for storage. The case is a nice addition and keeps everything together. Instructions were clear and included on the laminated card in the kit. Make sure to use the buffering solution (good idea to get some extra) to keep the probe tip hydrated and accurate during storage. I chose this model due to it's accuracy, longer life when cared for properly and the complete kit.

Excellent performance, good quality. Easy to use.
Love the included accessories, everything you need to get started is included, and also comes with a carrying case for everything it comes with.I've owned and used several pH meters over the years. It was time for a replacement and decided to try Apera. Calibration was easy and straightforward. Polling rate for updates seems to be real time, I've used HM testers and they don't seem to update the displayed pH value as fast as the Apera. Granted this probe is new, but it sure does give quick and accurate readings, and has a nice back lit display.Overall construction is decent, it could be a bit sturdier IMO, but it is waterproof just in case it does happen to get submerged, no worries there. Apera has a good design for keeping the storage solution in contact with the glass probe, HM has a silicone cap and a sponge to keep things moist. Having the bulb submerged at all times with solution makes it ready to go at all times with quick results. IMO the sponge contact vs liquid does not maintain proper concentration against the glass probe.I would totally recommend this probe, and will buy another should I somehow break this one.

1 Month Review: Accurate, but takes 5+ min to truly stabilize, and solutions won't last long.
I've used this meter for about a month now - it's not perfect, but overall, I'm quite happy with it.PROS: Overall, this meter works well. I've compared its reading to other meters, and I'm happy with the agreement. It's very simple to use, and calibration is quick and easy. I also love that it can be submerged!CONS:I've noticed that reading may be stable (you get the smiley icon) after a minute or so, but if I stir the meter, it starts changing again, and settles on a new (usually lower) value. I can go through a couple cycles of this (stir, wait til stable, stir wait til stable) before it finally settles on a value and always come back to it. It seems that if I leave the meter in the sample for 5-10 minutes, it reaches this value anyway - I'd recommend that approach. Also, not thrilled with the tiny solutions provided, especially the storage solution. I lose a drop or two of that whenever I use the meter (just by rinsing it in DI first), so it's already mostly gone. Ordering replacement storage and calibration solutions will cost you $10-25 depending on bottle size.
