Easy Fix For Non-Functioning Reverse Lights!
Motorcraft brand quality, decent price. When my reverse lights went out on my ranger, I checked the obvious. Fuses and bulbs were fine. Even the reverse light switch on the car bench tested ok for continuity when depressed.Bought a replacement and voila, let there be light!I'm guessing that even though my switch benched out right, the contacts had worn and we're not completely Actuated when the switch was installed. 2 weeks and no issues thus far with the new one.

Easy to install with the CORRECT tool....
After watching a few youtube videos about how difficult it is to replace the switch given the lack of room surrounding it, I have the answer. Use a 7/8" O2 sensor wrench. I was able to replace the switch in less than 10 minutes.

Nightmare if you can't handle it. Bad dream if you bare with it
Absolute nightmare to install. My 1969 FORD Ranger F250 Camper Special 4 speed manual. The switch sits on top of the transmission right next to shifter. You can see and feel free it from the bottom but that's it. You have to remove the hump for access but this was not an option for me since my interior is fully carpeted. I had to remove the shift boot and porcer the cut 3 gashes into my floor about 4 inches each. 1 left, 1 diagonally left and down, and one down. I then had to roll the metal back onto itself creating the access. Next was using a 7/8 socket on it. Lastly the previous owner didn't use a pigtail plug just jimmied the wire onto it with some bullet plugs, so I had to buy the pigtail separately and install it. Lastly you rolled the floor back over sprayed it with rust inhibitor and filled the cuts with instaweld it's a clay you kneed and apply. Finished the whole project by installing a new large boot to help cover the carpet a bit better where I cut it a bit. The switch seems fine now I finally have reverse lights. But boy oh boy what a pain.

Hard to replace.
Used on a 2011 Ford Ranger 4.0L 4x4 manual transmission. Great replacement for a nonfunctional switch. Very hard to replace. There’s only about two inches of space between the transmission and foot well. Additionally, there’s two fuel lines and a about a one inch thick wire harness in that space. I was able to use a 7/8 wrench and one hand.
