Classic poem, lovely illustrations
Classic poem I remember from my childhood, and thanks to this book, I can pass it on to my son. We read this book before going to the park to ride on the swing. The book is a nice compact size, perfect to take with us or to let him keep in his crib at night. The illustrations are simple and beautiful and perfectly compliment the poem. Nicely done.

The park
I bought this for my 6 month old for Christmas. She loves to go to the park. I have been taking her there since she was 7 weeks old even though all we can do is get on the swing together. Was so much fun reading her this book in the park. :) She even held the sides of the book up herself. We will enjoy this book for a long time. Such bright illustrations and very easy for her to hold onto.

So very sweet
This is an absolute favorite! When I was little my mom had a big picture book and on one page was a picture of a little girl swinging with this poem. This book the true Robert Louis Stevenson poem with many beautiful and sweetly simple illustrations. My son loves it too! We can never read it just once. Not just for girls either as the cover may indicate (tho they love it too)! There are many illustrations of little boys inside.

Wonderful illustrations and a great early introduction to poetry.
When we go swinging at the park, my daughter and I recite "The Swing" to each other because of this book. The illustrations are so lovely, you can practically feel the wind in your face as you read and look. I especially like that all different kinds of children are represented on the pages. Who doesn't love a swing?

The Swing
The Swing is 19th century poet and novelist Robert Louis Stevenson's poem of the same name made into its own board book for babies. The ethereal artwork of Julie Morstad reinvigorates the words of Stevenson, perfectly complementing the poem. The spectral, dreamlike images seem to accentuate the ephemeral moments of the back and forth motion of riding a swing.

please don't even bother with the kindle edition!
The cover of this book is so adorable, but the kindle edition is nothing but the text of the poem on a white screen. I was so disappointed! You can easily get the text from a google search.

Overpriced for the quality
Adorable little book but I am a little disappointed with the quality of the book itself. It feels like cheap cardboard and I don't think it will hold up well over time.

For toddlers that like to swing
Wording is a little odd at first, but it is a fun book that our child asks for and enjoys.
