Q: Can I transfer the money from this card to my debit card or to paypal?

yes you can, all you have to do is make another email address, and go to your paypal account and request a payment to that new email address. continue as a guest and you can pay yourself the 200. only thing is that paypal will take about 6 dollars from that 200, so you'll have 194 in your paypal account that you can transfer to your bank account

Short answer: Hell no! Everyone is wrong here, and they shouldn’t be answering your question. You cannot check into a room without giving them a card that says your name on it. If we’re talking scumbag motels that’ll take cash and only ask for your ID? I’m sure you might have some luck at a Budget Inn somewhere in tweakerville, but NO you cannot just go check into the Best Western or Holiday Inn etc with a gift card. You can BOOK a room in advance online with one, maybe on Priceline or even the hotels actual website, but when you arrive to check in, you’ll need a card with your name imprinted into it, with a certain amount of funds available on it at least. I used a debit card to book on Priceline, they immediately pulled the $107 total out of my account. Then I arrived and had to show a card in my name to check in. All I had was that same debit card. The hotel pulled an additional random $267 out in separate charges by mistake (non smoker clean freak here- i never get charged for incidentals) it was their mistake, they apologized and it was resolved, yet my point is that you always need a card that they know they can pull any amount of money from at anytime.

Q: Is there any setup required? Can you use it right out of the box if you do not want to register it?

I had to register it as it declined the first two tried, but setup is easy to do go online.
