God Is Three Persons

Much Needed Resource!
I write this review as someone who is an aspiring Christian apologist and who is used to teaching people who are high school to college age (or older) Christian apologetics. I am used to Dr. Craig's more advanced works, like Reasonable Faith, Assessing the New Testament Evidence for the Historicity of the Resurrection of Jesus, etc. My major area of inexperience is being able to teach young children important Christian truth claims, especially the attributes of God. This particular series by Dr. William Lane Craig is just what I needed! I ordered this particular volume on the Trinity, "God is Three Persons." I am very impressed! I plan on getting the entire series now, which currently has 10 books available and 12 are planned! The book is set at Christmas and the family (Brown bear and Red goose with their two children) setting out to get the family Christmas tree. The kids then start asking questions like, "If Jesus is God how come He prays to God in the Bible?" This gets the story started and by the end the children have asked several questions to understand how God could be three persons and yet one God and the parents answer them briefly and simply! Excellent book and I now feel I can be prepared to teach apologetics to a much wider audience! Thanks Dr. Craig!

A pretty good explanation
Explaining the Trinity is no easy task, whether adult or child. The book does about as good a job as any I’ve read. Gosling Charity and Cub John want to know if Jesus is God, then why does Jesus pray to God? So Papa Bear and Mama Gosling explain the Trinity. The Trinity is hard to explain and hard to understand but I would recommend this book to adults and children.I bought this book and this is my honest and unbiased review.

Wow my 4 year old is grasping the trinity?
It is very well written!! & seemed to explain deep concepts well to my 4 year old. While the goose and bear couple gave my husband & I a giggle 🤭... they are very charming illustrations that my daughter & son enjoyed!

Essential Doctrines For Children
It's great to see a book explaining the trinity to children. The Trinity is a doctrine that most Christian adults don't clearly grasp and so they don't teach it to their children or else do a poor job at teaching it to their children.A few years ago a Jehovah's Witness came knocking on my door and asked some of the same questions that are addressed in this book. Which means that if you get this book for your kids, you're not just teaching them essential truths of Christianity, you're preparing them to defend those views and answer challenges they may face later in life. The writing is simple enough that a child of 7 or 6 can read this book on his/her own.

Perfect for answering children's questions about the Lord
My 4 year old daughter started asking questions about Jesus a few weeks ago. "How can Jesus be God if Jesus is God's son?" I didn't know how in the world I was going to even attempt to explain the Trinity to a little girl when it's so tough to wrap my own mind around it. This book offers a simple and understandable way to view the 3 personas as a unified God. I plan on buying the other "What is God Like" books now.

The Doctrine of God for the Youngest Disciples
Dr. Craig's 'Attributes of God' books are great. I've purchased them all for my children, and I'm thrilled to be reading books to them that will actually deepen their understanding of God instead of just reading books for the stories. These books are very inviting to children and have a deeper purpose than story-telling. And, they're even a great theological brush-up for the adults reading them too!

Fantastic!
This book is on the Trinity and it is fantastic! My kids are still very young, so it's a bit over their heads. However, they understand the basic content and ideas that are broken down for them. My kids know more about the Trinity than I did at their age, that is for sure, and this book is helping to open up talks about it.

Excellent Book to help explain the Trinity to Children
Excellent book. Beautiful illustrations and easy to read. This small book helps little ones understand the Trinity by explaining that God is three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and that each plays a different role in our salvation. Examples are given in the book that appeal to young minds and help to explain the concept.

I have enjoyed aspects of this series despite the dubious mixed species ...
I have enjoyed aspects of this series despite the dubious mixed species family. My issue with that is that the example of family in all nature is the first place kids learn about reproduction. Even the bible talks about reproduction 'according to their kind'. There is also a strangely unequal relationship between the two 'parents' as the all-knowing dad answers his wife's questions. These are mild issues. However, this trinity book is just plain wrong. Every example of three things also being one is clearly divide-able or made up of parts and therefore still supports tritheism. The best of the bad bunch is perhaps a triangle, but worst is a fruit salad. Every kid knows that a fruit salad is pieces put together so it's a bad example that moves away from the simplicity of God. And a tricycle...really? I think it would have been better wrestling with it and being honest about how hard it is to find a way to think of the concept. Whatever we come up with falls short. (Tends towards Modalism or tritheism) we can learn to confess it based on other truths we can grasp. But putting kids on a path of thought that is marginally askew can lead to being majorly off course. I have used the other books in the series to inspire teaching kids in church, and some of it is helpful, for a starting point. but I cannot pass this one on unfortunately.

Definitely recommended
I bought this book for my 6 year old child who is quite fond of books. She likes it, so I got all the others too. They are meant for young children, however the theological subjects dealt by Dr.Craig on these books aren't in any way diluted losing any of its depths! Highly recommended indeed!
