Q: Can I mount these on a flat surface as an uplighter? And do they get hot?

I see no reason why you should not use this as an up-lighter. The power dissipation is 36 only watts. The surface feels only 'warm to the touch' - 24 deg. C (measured very simply with a thermometer held against the surface).

Q: Can you put a 13amp plug on these?

The wire is *very* short so it's not ideal it, but you could physically get a plug on the end, yes. I wouldn't recommend using a 13A fuse though as that's way too high. maybe a 2A or 5A max.

Q: whats the best way to connect 4 in a row to the one plug?

To be honest, if you’re not sure you would be best getting an electrician to do it. It is however, pretty simple if you are connecting through a plug. Imagine running a cable from the plug to the farthest light and then use an insulated connector block to connect to the light’s tail, then cut the cable alongside the other lights and use a connector at each junction to connect the two cut ends to the light’s tail at each light, then fit the plug. Ensure that the cable is secure and the wires can’t be pulled out of the connectors. Change the fuse in the plug to a 3 amp. Take care, it’s electricity after all. Good luck!

The light was installed above an AGA cooker. It works as it should good light no perceivable noise. No complaints at all. Keith
