Emptiness Dancing

The only book I need on the topic
After reading two other books by Adyashanti, I started reading "Emptyness Dancing". I don't need anymore books by him or anyone else. If I can absorb and live what he explains in this book on just a couple of pages, that's all I need.I'd like to add, I've read many "spiritual"( for lack of a better word) books. Adyashanti speaks my language. He's not meditating alone in a cave, he's a regular guy. He's married, was into sports, writes as if he's having a conversation with the reader. I can't imagine how he could not only have such amazing knowledge but also be able to put it on paper and share it in a way that anyone can understand it.The day you read this book (or any of his books) will be a good day for you.

Awakening to what you truly are
Adyashanti is a young man who was unusually aware from childhood. He practiced Zen for years, became a teacher and transmits a teaching that combines Zen with Christianity and Advaita Vedanta. This is one of those books in which I underline something on every page. Essentially, his teaching is about awakening to what you truly are. Examples:" . . that which our human heart truly desires - to always be with our knees on the floor, always be in that sort of devotion to Truth.""Actually our greatest fear is to find out that you love all sorts of things and people that your mind would rather not love. Possibly the only fear greater than death, is love, real love.""There is only one thing going on. Whether you call that one thing God, the divine, consciousness, Buddha nature, emptiness, fullness, leftist, rightist, it doesn't matter. . . There is only emptiness and its infinite display of itself."If you wish to nourish your natural devotion to Truth and your nature as love, Adya offers insight on openness, letting go, allowing the experience of not-knowing, and other such in this book.

Helpful for those who see they are not awake yet
Very helpful for me, 72, over 45 years of study, sitting and inner work with groups and by myself, but not yet awakened, really, if I am honest. Some good experiences, OK, but in my ordinary daily life? This book has a great deal of material in it that comes from experience and not thought, from someone who has actually lived what he writes about, in a simple, clear language not decorated by an ego. Not all easy to take in, as the simple truth is sometimes more difficult to receive than a well decorated story that comes more from imagination than concrete living moments or spans of time. If you have any real interest in the spiritual side of life, a recommended or even obligatory read

One of the best spiritual books I've read!
Adyashanti covers all of the bases in this extremely well written book, which describes the "truth" that he knows as a result of awakening. He has a diverse background so he speaks from Zen, Buddhism, Advaita perspectives and describes how they relate to his current state clearly and articulately. He gives stories that support his points and it is so compelling I could not put the book down. Adyashanti is one of the few awakened beings who can describe the state in great detail, with humor, simplicity and sensitivity. As you can see, I loved this book.If you love seeking and consider yourself a "seeker" this may not be the book for you. He uncovers the egoic nature of the spiritual seeker, and that can be hard to hear at first. It was for me and took away my story that I am better or superior than others who are not seekers (a good thing). All in all I highly recommend this book to anyone who has been on the spiritual path for awhile and wants a clear description of what the awakened state is like.

Fire and clarity
This wonderful book by Adyashanti is written with fire and clarity. I am always on the look out for new spiritual books, but after reading Eckhart Tolle, I did not think I would find another author who wrote with such insight and passion, but Adyashanti does and his work is quite inspiring. There are many books available on the subject, but few writers possess the talent to write with such compelling clarity. This book is a rare treat, but it must be read slowly and savored quietly. I find that I need to stop after a few pages and allow the new insights to settle in and percolate before I read further.

A guide for your spiritual journey
This is a marvelous book by author who has lived through the very thing is trying to help others lived through. The writing style is easily readable and devilishly complex at the same time. I found myself rereading sections and discovering things that I had missed during prior readings. I also found myself realizing what the author was trying to say only after I had finished the book and started through it again. This is a book where indigestion is insufficient. Digestion is the key and it takes multiple passes in order to have it occur. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is on a spiritual journey.

Emptiness and Enlightenment
Adyashanti has a wonderful and compassionate resonance in his words and teachings, and for many of us, his experiences passed on through his stories somehow transform our way of thinking and experiencing this great journey we call life. This particular book has received high praises and many people have been moved by the words within.I, however; was a bit disappointed by this book as I felt Adyashanit's message seemed to take a circuitous route at times and did not always drive the point home, despite a clear intention to do so at the beginning of each chapter. Some chapters in the book were excellent while others might leave one scratching his/her head. Though the writing is compassionate and personal, the message is often lost in the repeating themes and verbiage. For anyone interested in learning more about Buddhism, I would recommend any of the following Authors: D.T, Suzuki, Alan Watts and Thich Nhat Hanh, Sylvia Boorstein or Pema Chodron. I find that the above authors make no claims, and their message rings true and uncluttered.

Enlightening
This was recommended by a friend before I went on a meditation weekend. I hadn't read these kind of books or done anything like this before but found this book accessible, easy to read and grasp the concepts. I feel that I got much more for the weekend having read this book. Since then I have read some other titles on enlightenment and I still think this one works well to demystify the concepts and makes a great starting point.

Great book. So nice to dip into before meditating, to get you started. Adyashanti is as clear as a bell, as usual.
