Great for practice.
Used it to help me understand the process of hand-lettering. Helped me a bunch, however some of the fonts are a little childish in style or just not the kind of style I would use widely. Plenty of practice pages and helpful tips about creating your own fonts or translating a font from paper to digital. A good book to help you jumpstart your understanding and beginnings of drawing letterforms.

I guess I was expecting more
After purchasing a ton of art books with slants on doodling, Zentangle and more, I guess I was expecting more from this book. It ranged from simplistic (too much for my taste) to a fascinating, yet far too difficult for my skills, Octopus-inspired alphabet. I wanted this book to be more middle of the road, achievable, yet challenging. Many of the fonts felt a bit too pedestrian to me.

A gift for Mom
My mom is a walking artist. There is nothing she can't do in the creative world. I got a great price so I gave her this book. She has bragged about the book and thanked me so many times, the few dollars it cost was so worth it. Thank you. I love amazon, I am a 1970'2 woman living in a tech filled world, Amazon is always easy and helpful!

Fun inspiration
If you're needing some inspiration, this is a structured way to get your creativity on. Nothing earth shattering, but it's a fun workbook fun nonetheless. Good addition to the library too.

Look Elsewhere for Inspiration
As another reviewer posted, this contains many simplistic alphabets. Contrary to that review, I didn’t find the more difficult alphabets beyond my skills. I just found them to be boring and not very inspired. With the market currently saturated with brush lettering and modern calligraphy books, it’s become challenging to find a decent book of solid handlettered exemplars. The search continues.

Fonty fun for all the family
As a man who likes nothing better than writing rude words on lavatory walls, I'm happy to report this book has revolutionized my repertoire - my crapper canon if you will. In conclusion, this tome is the ideal gift for the wayward graffiti artist in YOUR family.

Draw Your Own Alphabets
This book was a good choice for me to learn how to spread my wings a little. There are many pages right next to the actual alphabets so that you may practice drawing them without having to find a piece of paper, pencils, etc...good book.

Okay
In the end, I realized I could just copy fonts off the Internet. The book by itself is great, but his biggest contribution was to look elsewhere.

Great Book!
Very good book for a designer who doesn't like to just stick to the computer for typefaces. I had lots of fun drawing the fonts. Definitely would recommend this book, also arrived in good timing!
