Betty Crocker Betty Crocker Rainbow Chip Party Cake Mix 425g (pack of 6)

Another winning cake mix from Betty Crocker. Just add a few ingredients, stick it in the oven, and boom, a perfect cake. You either add vegetable oil or butter. I always use oil, as I think it gives a much lighter, moist cake. Likewise, it says you can either add water or milk. I always use water, as I feel it gives a lighter less dense cake. It asks for 3 medium eggs. I've used medium or large. It doesn't seem to make any real difference. For me, it could be a little more lemony, so I add an extra 3 tablespoons of lemon juice to really give it a lemony kick. If you're not sure, I suggest you try it as it is, and then add some extra lemon next time, if that's what you want. It is best if you have the right sized 20cm cake tins, as you will find the cake cooks more evenly. As you can see in my photo, I topped and filled mine with a Betty Crocker lemon zesty icing. It does make it even more delicious. Perfect with a cup of tea, or even better, a slice in a bowl, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Ingredients wise, it's mainly sugar and flour with a few bits and bobs thrown in. Yes, you could quite easily mix your own, but this does make everything very simple, and practically fool proof. I've bought the various varieties of cake mix many times, and can't see a reason to stop. Delicious. I hope you found this review helpful.

Best one of all the flavors

Makes a good size cake . You do need to add a few things to it do it doesnt work out cheap but will make a nice birthday cake.

Bought these to make a teen titans birthday cake for my son Using all the boxes it made 2x 10" base cakes (water) 4x and 8" cakes (cliff) 1 x 10x8" T shape cake ( titans t tower) Tasted amazing , saved time and looked good (as good as anything i can make lol others could make better) The cakes were fluffy, vanillary, light and tasted great with the vanilla filling. Was easy to make the multiple layers , removed the having to constantly measure ect saved so much time.

Good lemon taste,slightly zingy. Easy to mix - used hand whisk and blender on separate occasions, still got a good result. Slightly fluffier/lighter with machine. Crisp sides, a good cake mix.

So easy to use, always excellent results.

I ordered these as my family like cakes and ir was a cheaper way of making cakes rather than buying them.. the cakes turned out so light and with a bit of butter cream in the middle.. they tasted so nice... would recommend
