After seeing a few reviews about the handles falling off, I was a little skeptical when ordering this, but it's such a neat lil device that I just had to give it a go.I don't think I've ever been so happy with a kitchen 'gadget' before. I can't stop making toasted sammiches.This thing is so easy to use and toasts perfectly evenly on both sides. If you pop it on the hob and heat it whilst prepping the sandwich, it takes no time at all to cook it once it's in there. The handles, fortunately, seem sturdy enough on mine so far, after many uses in its first week, and it's been really easy to clean, even when cheese has melted all over it.The oooonly downside is that I got the black one, and right out of the box, it was already looking a little scuffed in places with the silver metal showing through here and there, but for the price I'm not too worried about that.

I bought this for using on my wood burning stove and it worked brilliantly. ( To protect your woodburner surface, Place a baking tray on IT to avoid fat splashes sticking to it.)The Product was a much better design than I had anticipated from some of the reviews I had read regarding it coming apart. In fact, the hinge design is brilliant as it is a single piece so it can’t break you just need to know how to open and close it backwards in order to disconnect the hinge. People that have written negative reviews regarding this simply haven’t worked out how to open it backwards to line up the hinges to close it again. It’s a bit like a puzzle, but once you figure that out it’s a much better design than a toaster made with separate parts. This design is pretty much bombproof , I also love the coating as it’s much healthier and better than the black Teflon coating which will eventually flake and break off into your food. No problem with this design highly recommend - I imagine it is good for campung to and very easy to clean.

Bought one of these around 18 months ago and it worked on our induction hob, wanted a second for cooking on a portable induction hob when camping unfortunately they have changed to materials as the new one does not work with induction. Instead it gets slightly warm and then hob throws an error. Disappointing but the item itself is good and would recommend for other hob types - makes lovely toasties and really easy to clean (far better than the electric type toastie makers!)

I wasn’t optimistic about this but it’s excellent. So much better than the rubbish electric one I bought and immediately gave to a charity shop.Easy to use, and easy to take apart and clean. Neat and small. Works perfectly. Gives nice brown stripes. Doesn’t crimp the edges but is thick enough to cope with lots of filling. I use GF bread which is quite small and it’s perfect for that. Hands down better than the electric versions

This product always impresses visitors quick toasties, crispy and give keeps all the fillings intact. Easy to use.

Had an electric sandwich toaster for years - lives on top of the cupboards and never used because it's such a nightmare to clean after use. So this device looked like a brilliant idea, and indeed to proved to be so. Worked well in use, and made a decent sandwich. But then it all fell apart (literally) when the rivets holding one of the handles in place fell out, leaving me with a burning hot hinged metal thing with only one handle, flailing around all over the place.I emailed the company to report the failure of their manufacture, but as I've had no response in a couple of weeks, they get this review instead.(Note, they get 1 star for it being a good idea, not because their product is any good).Cheaply built and falls apart dangerously. Recommend you don't buy "Jean Patrique".

This is a fantastic product makes the perfect toasted sandwich in my opinion, unlike other toasted sandwich makers that Crush the bread to with an inch of its life, making the bread rock hard and impossible to chew. With this toasted sandwich maker your sandwich is left in perfect shape tasty and easy to eat. I would highly recommend, just don't be rough when opening and closing as the hinges are a little flimsy that's the only negative.

Great little gadget for Toasties, no waiting for huge stupid electric heating plates to warm up, however don't try and use as a frying pan etc, the non stick coating is wafer thin and wont stand up to the riggers of frying. The black painted surface is so thin simply sitting it on top of the stove will scratch it to bits, even just cleaning it with a PLASTIC NON SCRATCH PAD has revealed the metal underneath (best advice - go for the silver option) would I buy another - Hmm yes but would probably go for a better quality one instead.
