Haven’t read it
Author immediately consorted with my other Taoist teacher as if I had wanted to be the subjugate of all masters.

Sleeping gong, merging of art
Bought in France, this nice book comes in my way to invest the sources, and merging, of the Liu He Ba Fa Fist, also a creation of daoist sage Chen Tuan.It is told that the art of Liu He Ba Fa was also inspired by this art of deep meditation at the borders and like in the depth of sleep. As I see it, the book is very well written, with a real sympathetic tonality, and full of insights into the daoist history it covers. The book is made of some very precised Chinese old classics, and commentaries by the author, and as such, is a very serious investigation on the subject, and full of interest.I wish I learn the art of sleeping gong, also as a martial art argument.

Fascinating
This was a surprisingly fun book to read. Tom Bisio somehow manages to really bring the historical, philosophical, and eastern medicinal principles together in a great and lyrical way. I enjoyed the "poetry" in this book as much as I enjoyed the author's historical notes and translations. In a sense this particular practice echoes the idea of "savasana" as the most important asana in one's yoga practice.

The book delivers a decent and accurate translation of a main text by Chen Tuan
I truly appreciate the amount of work that has gone into this product. It is evident that the author has read a lot of other material to complement this book. I am running a small publishing house called Purple Cloud Press (purplecloudinstitute.com) myself so I can truly cherish the efforts. On a downside this books by and large does not contain original/new translations of Chen Tuan content, since it focuses on providing much background knowledge as such, including basic concepts for instance Tai Ji etc. Lastly I would have enjoyed seeing the original Chinese for many of the quotations, as a bilingual reader this is paramount to compare translation to original text and understand the nuance of the original.
