Buying a whole new set of leather furniture was simply not on my list this year -- but, neither was a tear in the armrest with Christmas and company right around the corner. So, I read some reviews on Amazon and ordered a repair kit from the Quick Company. Trust me when I tell you I'm not the crafty type. I'm hard pressed to sew on a button. But, for the price of the kit, I figured I had nothing to lose by trying. I ordered the wine color kit but realized the color was probably not going to quite match. My three-piece set is a very dark burgundy with an almost brown undertone (even though the light makes it look completely brown in the pics). So, I emailed Patrick at the Quick Company and explained my problem. He answered almost immediately and asked for a picture of the color. I finally managed to get one that showed the proper color, and he sent me out a dark brown to mix with the wine -- at his expense. Wow.It really didn't take very long to do the repair. My only wish is that the directions would be more explicit in regards to the mending glue. My mend would have turned out better, I think, had I used the glue more sparingly. My suggestion is to start out small using a toothpick and glue on the edges of the tear. There is also a cloth backing in the kit to fit under the tear. If the mend doesn't work well the first time (I had a hard time getting the edges to meet well), you can carefully sand it down and touch it up or fill it in with more glue. The color dye was the only thing needed on the cracks surrounding the tear. I did put on a couple of coats because I needed to darken the color a bit. The match turned out so well that I also did the other armrest because it had faded from wear.The "fixed" pic was taken before the final step of using the sealer. That comes 72 hours after the dye. But, I'm so happy with the results that I didn't want to wait to review this product. Between the incredible customer service and the success of the product, I would not hesitate to recommend this. I was so skeptical that this product would work on my cat/dog-clawed, cat-pee stained* leather furniture set from Italy that I didn't even bother to take "before" pictures except of one deep scratch. I'm a believer now. The kit is easy to use and the dark brown color matched my furniture set exactly - I didn't need to adjust the color with the black and white tints included. I was able to cover my sofa, loveseat, easy chair and footstool with the mega-kit. I had literally tried everything before using this kit (furniture markers, olive oil, ironing the scratches under a damp rag) - nothing worked. I highly recommend this!*Note: I had removed the cat pee earlier with a vinegar, baking soda & detergent solution which got rid of the smell, but the leather was badly bleached out on the entire middle couch cushion the cat had used. This product completely covered up and blended in the splotchy bleached-out areas.

This product is nothing short of amazing!!! I used the kit to refinish 4 leather club chairs. The leather was in good condition, however, they had faded to a terrible dull and lack luster color. I was a bit nervous at first, especially since these were very good quality chairs, but figured I had nothing to lose. I used the kit precisely as instructed and was blown away by the results!! I did have to buy 2 more bottles of the dark brown leather color restorer and 1 more bottle of the top coat to finish the job. But with that being said, my club chairs are large and wide. The color went on evenly and smoothly and was easy to apply. The chairs look like they are brand new. Everyone who sees them cannot believe they are the same chairs. I have waited to post my review upon waiting to see if the finish cracks, rubs off or chips, but it is now 2 months (with a lot of sitting) and they look as good as when I first finished them. The product really seems to penetrate the leather and not just sit on top. My worry was that they would look "painted" but they do not.I am so very pleased with this product and would give it 10 stars if I could. I think the pictures say it all.
