Canon Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E7A (Version 2)

I have had Canon Wireless Transmitters for my older Canon EOS bodies, but none was as bad as this one. This transmitter in no way integrates with the 5DSR. It screws on the bottom, ruining the functionality of the battery grip, and needs a cable to be connected around to the port on the side. Add to this the useless instructions on how to create a stand alone network, the useless web interface, and I just sent it back. A disgrace for Canon to be charging so much money for such a poorly designed product. I still gave it 2 stars, because if you had to make it work to give you a wireless connection then you could do it.

This item is useless for what I need. I have a Canon 6D with built in wifi, it is very easy to transfer pictures to an iphone. This WFT-E7A version ii is the wireless option for the Canon 7D mark ii camera. But it cannot be used as a source wifi as the 6D does. You cannot transfer pictures to your iphone with this device, it has to connect to a wifi infastructure. This was verified by Canon support. It cannot be mounted to the camera then used on a tripod or with a battery grip either. It connects to the tripod mount hole then connects to the camera with a cable.
