Maisy's Farm: With a pop-out play scene

I bought this for my 2.5 year old because I bought her a set of other Maisy books which she loves and these board books are pictured in the back. She was particularly drawn to this one so I bought it. I would say it's for a younger age group as it has fewer words than the paper books she has. Also, the farm scene is a little irritating with cut out paper figures that stand against a backdrop attached to the book. There is nowhere to store these figures and no way of separating the farm scene from the book without breaking it and removing the last page. It actually would have been better just as a book. Shame really, I could see my daughter was a little underwhelmed. She prefers the paper Maisy books.

We love Maisy books in our house. So why 3 stars? The story is OK and the number of items we can point to and name is excellent. But the pop out shop is poorly designed. You will make the shop once then lose the bits over the next few days. Good idea badly executed. They should have put in a "pocket" to store the bits. It's a shame

Ich kenne Maisy’s Haus noch aus meiner eigenen Kindheit – und schon damals habe ich es geliebt. Umso schöner ist es, dass ich es nun wiederentdeckt habe. Das Buch ist nicht einfach ein Buch, sondern verwandelt sich beim Aufklappen in ein richtiges Spielhaus. Mit wenigen Handgriffen wird es auseinandergefaltet und an den Seiten zusammengeknotet – schon steht Maisys kleines Zuhause bereit. Drinnen gibt es unglaublich viel zu entdecken: liebevolle Details, bunte Illustrationen und viele kleine Szenen, die zum Spielen einladen. Besonders praktisch: Das Buch ist handlich und nimmt im Gepäck kaum Platz weg. Gerade für unterwegs, ob im Urlaub oder bei Besuchen, ist es perfekt. Kinder können sich damit wunderbar beschäftigen und tauchen schnell in Maisys Welt ein. Für mich persönlich steckt darin eine Extraportion Nostalgie, weil es tolle Kindheitserinnerungen weckt. Gleichzeitig macht es auch der neuen Generation richtig viel Spaß. Fazit: Ein wunderschönes Mitmach- und Entdeckerbuch, das sowohl Spielvergnügen als auch Nostalgie bietet. Absolut empfehlenswert für kleine Maisy-Fans – und für alle Eltern, die ein platzsparendes, aber spannendes Spiel für unterwegs suchen!
