The ipad app that goes with these bricks is the real winner here. It is very easy to use and kid friendly. It allows you to select which other megaconstrux brick sets you have, and then it shows you lots of really cool builds you can do by combining sets. One of my sons is autistic and legos are like therapy for him when he is stressed or having a hard day. We got this set to go with his legos because it was a really great price and the colors are bright and cheerful. We are big animal fans too so the fun animal builds are great for our kiddos. All three of my littles (4, 6, and 7) have really enjoyed this set and the accompanying app. If you/your kid enjoys the lego creator 3 in 1 sets, then this set should be a fast favorite too. We've ordered some of the other megaconstrux inventions sets to add to this fun collection. Only 4 stars because they do not feel quite as high quality as lego brand bricks, but they are still quite sturdy and the specialty pieces are amazing.

I got these for my 5yo to try as the bag says suitable for 5+, and they were much cheaper than the Lego Friends she usually builds by herself. However, these bricks need a lot of pressure to squeeze together and she cannot do these by herself. An adult will need to help and your fingers will hurt. We do find these hold together better than Lego bricks, as they are also difficult to disasemble. And you WILL need to disassemble them as it seems the included models cannot be built simultaneously.The bag advertises 10+ model ideas, but there are only 8 you can build with this bag alone - all the other models require buying other bags. The app has 8 models and the included booklet has 2, but those 2 are copies of the ones in the app (blue alligator and turtle).As for the app, we find it cumbersome to use. There are 2-3 swipes required per step (as a sort of odd flip-book animation), which is totally unneccessary and sometimes confusing. Plus you don't even get any benefits of using a tablet, such as model zooming or rotation. It is truly just a flip-book in an app. The instructions in the booklet were much easier to follow.It has some nice unique parts, and the price per brick is cheap, but we probably will not be buying any more of this brand.

I ordered this set while it was on sale and for the under $10 price it was a great deal. It has a lot of unusual shapes and colors, and a few really unique connectors for attaching bricks to non-brick stuff by way of suction cups and flexible bands. Overall it’s a fun set.My complaint however is that the quality of the bricks themselves is lower than many other brands, even some of the generic ones we’ve tried have been higher quality plastic and stayed together better.To the manufacturer: It would be well worth paying a little more to have the same thing in a higher quality. The uniqueness of these is awesome, but they just don’t stay together well and the plastic on some of the smaller parts is easy to break accidentally.

This was my second set of the Inventions bricks and although I was able to build something this time, I was missing pieces yet again. This time they were pieces that didn't show on the end product so I was able to substitute other bricks. Some bricks went together with ease and others felt like I needed super strength. Some parts of the build didn't hold together well until half the build was completed. The online instructions were easy to follow but the colors can be hard to tell which one you actually need to use. You can only build one item and then your done...with random bricks left over that you can't really do anything with. These should be designed so you can make a couple things at once at least. Overall, I gave this line two chances but will not give it a third. It's just not worth the money.

This makes such interesting animals! It is difficult to make and I felt that my fingers were hurting but the shapes that you can make with this is definately more interesting than legos. I spent the time to make the chameleon and parts of it did come apart because they connections arent as sturdy. Other parts would not come off because there was really no way to take it off, even with the tool.

We have really enjoyed these legos. I especially like the app you can down load that shows you step by step how to create. The legos are very small and sometimes hard to push together but the finished products look great and are sturdy.

Beautiful bricks, and some very innovative ones. We're highly satisfied with our purchase, and have made several others from this brand.While the packs do not contain detailed instructions for all possible projects in them, we never missed that part, as our Little is a free builder anyway, suggested projects just do not get build around here.

I bought it on sale (half price). For that price it was very good toy.
