Academy USS Enterprise CV-6 Aircraft Carrier Battle of Midway Modeler's Edition Plastic Model Kits 1/700 Scale

This model was the only thing on my 10 yr old's birthday wish list. He is working on it with my husband. I estimate that they have spent 12-15 hours on it and are 90% done.My 10 year old's review: "I think it's absolutely amazing! It is so detailed!"My husband's review: "Yeah, this isn't really the best pick for a beginner... It's super detailed!"So if you are just starting out making models (like my 10 yr old), if it's been 20 years since you've made a model (like my hubs) or if you don't have a set space & need to work on it at wobbly kitchen table, then I would suggest checking out some other options. However, the excitement over how it's all coming together is palpable! This will be a (mostly) delightful challenge.Accuracy- I'm told that "2 Chicago pianos" are supposed to be in the back, but this model has them on the sides, near the captain's deck. Otherwise it seems accurate.

I got this for my husband who likes to build ship models. He really has loved it. The main ship he was able to build in a day. It does have very very tiny detailed golden railings that are extremely time consuming and the instructions are not great but if you model you can work it out.

This plastic model kit is nicely made. The details are crisp and there wasn't too much flash to scrape off. I'm still in the process of building it, but I've been pleased with the fit. I should have gotten a slightly larger scale. I didn't realize how small some of those parts would be at 1/700 scale. The aircraft it comes with are tiny. No bigger than your thumbnail.I haven't built models regularly for some 25 years so I find this kit challenging and rewarding. The instructions aren't great. Once you understand what the manufacturer is trying to say and where to paint what, it's not frustratingly difficult.I find this kit to be well done, historically accurate, and I think you'll get hours and hours of enjoyment building and painting it.

Lots of tiny parts , but an accurate representation nonetheless . Definitely a challenge for even an experienced model builder .

It was expensive for a 1/700 kit but there are a lot of detail parts included and the molding is excellent.

That is great with a fantastic price. I will buy all my models here on Amazon.

This is a well molded and most accurate 1/700 version of CV-6.
