Can the 5mm be use for laptop display repair?

I found it a bit thin when replacing my daughter's Lenovo Yoga screen. It had to double and triple the tape up around the edges of the screen to get it to hold. I haven't found one thick enough, since.

I would not recommend this tape for waterproofing your phone. I have the same phone and this tape was a huge disappointment. The tweezers are really great, that's about all the good news I can give for this package. I ordered some other tape that specified it was 3m. I plan to try the new tape from a different vendor in hopes I can regain the waterproof functionality of my Xperia. So far I've been hauling it in a ziploc bag.
