French Accents: At Home with Parisian Objects and Details

Since I am a Francophile, I loved this decorating book and got good ideas on where to incorporate French details in my 1915 house. There is a chapter that lists the names of different companies along with paint colors. Great! I was thrilled, however, the paint colors in all these beautiful rooms are not specified. I am looking for the perfect French blue for my dining room. I found just the colors within the pages of this book but can't figure out which paint color goes with which room. Bummer! I would have given it 5 stars but had to give it 4 instead.

Even though I didn't love every style in the book, there was a lot to take away from it. I felt inspired by the way the homes were styled. Each picture felt like a loved place where someone lived, unlike a lot of photos you see in magazines and other books which feel over-styled, sterile, or the dreaded 'staged' look. It showed you how to use color, texture, and found objects you cherish. There is something for you in this book.

Love this book and all the various suggestions the writer gives. Very interesting interiors because they are traditional and modern.Even though there are a million books out there on French Decorating - this one is a must!

I loved this book! So much fun to read, I was sorry I couldn’t find anything to follow up.

It is good resource book

I like picture books, or I should say photo books. Purchased for the fun of looking AND for ideas for a future home. I love the warmth and simplicity of this style. This book is full of rooms to LIVE in not just museums too beautiful to sink into.

I look at this book again and again and always find something new to think about. Covers so many topics and nuances of design. Very informative and thoughtful. Love it!!

This is a fantastic book. If you like eclectic interiors with accumulated objects, and no shabby chic whatsoever, then this is for you. Sophisticated interiors that have been curated over time and not decorated in one go.

Excellent book where we look at key areas that will help all of us to define, plan and create our home with a French touch. I mean that we can read about the basic principles behind good French interior design, with tips from designers and links to leading design resources. We can also read about individuals who have successfully decorated their homes with the support of best parisien designers ;) i liked this book a lot !!!
