Does a great job! A little costly, but worth it!
I've had fish tanks since I was a kid, which is over 50 years now. I have a bit of experience in regards to maintaining fish tanks!!! ;) I've had freshwater (FW) brackish, and saltwater (SW) tanks. At one period of time, I had a basement full of saltwater tanks. With all that said, over the years I've had probably close to a dozen different types of glass cleaners/algae removers that were 2-piece designs with magnets (and ones with blades/brushes/scrubbers on sticks too). For the 2-piece magnetic ones I've used all of the big name brands, and the most popular ones. I've had ones that used scrubby pads similar to Scotch-Brite. Some that used something similar to velcro. Some that were hybrids, using both a pad and a clip-on metal blade of sorts. Some that used straight-edge razor blades, and some that used 2 injector style razor blades that sat perpendicular to the glass. That last style was the best of the bunch back in the day in regards to removing tough FW algae, and SW coralline algae. Only problem was that in FW, the blades needed frequent replacement, and in SW they needed even more frequent changes as they would start rusting from day one! All of these mentioned styles also had the ability to pick up sand and gravel from the substrate if you weren't careful enough and went too low in the tank, or if they were of the variety that didn't float (or if they got detached from each other) and you could easily scratch your glass with whatever you picked up from the bottom, or if the pad fell to the bottom and something stuck to it.Now to the Tunze Care Magnet Nano. I decided to try it as i've seen some glowing reviews. It's a bit expensive compared to some other (although there are other niche brands that cost 2 to 3 times as much too). I figured I'd try it and use Amazon's return service if it didn't pan out. I have returned a few of the cheap glass cleaners that are all over Amazon, as 99% just didn't do even an OK job.The Tunze Nano is currently being used in a 5 gallon, and a 14 gallon BioCube tank (yes, I've cut back on my tanks over the past few years). This smallest Tunze has magnets that are perfectly suited for the job. They have tremendous attraction, but not too strong that they continually jerk their way across the glass. The plastic glass scrapers on the Tunze which I had little faith in before purchase have turned out to do a phenomenal job! They actually clean the glass off, removing the algae in a continuous sheet (reminds me of a meat slicer in a deli). While other cleaners disperse the scraped algae back into your water column, the Tunze kind of rolls it in to a cylinder that you can either totally remove, or let it sit on the bottom for your algae eaters to eat. It cleans the glass as well as if not better than a razor blade, but doesn't rust or crumble over time. If you accidentally or purposely go into your gravel, it won't pick any of it up due to its design, so it won't scratch your glass. A plus to the Tunze over others is that the blades can go deep into corners near your silicone, scraping right up to the sealant, but without disturbing it. You can't do that with fuzzy or velcro types, and you need to be extremely careful near your sealant seams if you use razor blades. And probably the biggest plus for the Tunze is for use in a tank like a BioCube that has curved glass across the front and rounded, seamless corners. Due to it resting solely upon the 2 blades, it contacts the curved glass just as good as ifit were flat glass. I can get it to easily clean the entire "corner" by doing half from the front, and then do the rest from the side glass. Basically it gets the whole entire corner, where other cleaners cannot! On square tanks, The magnets are strong enough that as you go from one glass panel to the next one, the cleaner just easily snaps over to the next piece of glass, but not so hard where you're afraid of breaking the glass as it switches over to the next piece of glass. As you can no doubt tell from the above, I'm a big fan!

Works On Curved Glass
Very glad I bought this product. It works exactly as advertised & it's apparent as soon as you take it out of the box that it's well-constructed. Likewise, as soon as you read & follow the instructions & use the Tunze Care Nano, it's apparent it's well designed. For my purposes, it's pretty much perfect - I recently purchased a new light that revealed there was a good bit of white algae building up on the glass in my tank.On my first use, it took me about 12 minutes to clean 3 sides of the tank. I started on the front, which is curved. Not a problem at all; I used an up&down motion & it came right off. Care Nano definitely does work on curved glass (woo-hoo!).No problem w/ corners, either; there's a vid on YouTube that shows the technique, but there's really nothing to it. Just come to a stop against the corner & slide the handle around w/ a steady motion & the scraper side follows. It's no hype -magnet is REALLY strong.I also found it not such a big flaw that it doesn't float. The one time I dropped it, I just quickly caught up w/ the scraper side & it re-attached itself to the handle. It's also unobtrusive hanging in the tank. Have mine in the corner by the filter, as shown.

It won’t float but I like it
Didn’t read close enough before I hit “buy”.Returning it now- ya wanna know why?Couldn’t imagine a mag that didn’t float.Like a wooden paddle falling out of a boat.BUT, it’s high quality and nice design.I found it to work just fine.Returning it for new model that floats- - too bad it’s twice the price.Way more than I wanted to spend,But it’ll be quite nice.

Great tool
This is a very good aquarium cleaner. I like the design to minimize picking up any sand, and it's thin enough to slip behind rockwork and decor, but not so small that it isn't effective. Cleans pretty fast.

MUCH higher quality than flipper magnets
Much better than flipper magnets, flippers are made in China with very cheap craftsmanship and low quality materials and magnets. Tunze magnet cleaners on the other hand are made in Germany with excellent craftsmanship and materials these will last you forever, it's my all time favorite magnet cleaner. So good and highly customizable as well. You can attach razor blades too.

Exceeded my expectations
I purchased the nano version magnetic scraper of another well know brand and was pretty disappointed. Blade quality doesn't matter much if your magnet sucks. The magnet on the Tunze scraper is crazy strong for how small it is. I have 8mm thick glass and it takes off 95% of algae on the first pass. I did purchase the steel blade attachment for more stubborn algae but I haven't needed it yet. The scraper doesn't float on it's own but that's a small price to pay for a magnetic scraper that's perfect in every other way.

Packaging concern
The media could not be loaded. Pricey item but the packaging is poor. Good thing the item was not damaged.

OMG this things AMAZING
It cleans your glass great it is tricky going around the corner but seriously if you sick and tired of washing your glass when you do water changes get this it scraps the glass with the plastic parts so no worrying about scratching the glass you can go threw gravel.. as I said the only thing is it's tricky going around the corner love this little magical scraper

money well spent.
Awesome product. I can't believe how good this thing is. Zero scratches. Can be used near substrate.Doesn't block a huge amount of view. Not an eye sore.Fish are not that scared compared to blocky glass cleaner.Only problem is it doesn't float without an accessory (sold separately) so it might be a problem for tall tanks or if corals sit near the glass.Doesn't matter how much you pay for it it's well worth every cent/penny.Tip: don't buy tunze care magnet scrapper for thicker glass if u have thinner glass on your aquarium. Magnet is so strong it will make moving the scrapper very difficult.
