I've always purchased this brand of feeder & have never been dissatisfied - until now!! There's nothing wrong with the feeder itself & the design is great, but both these latest feeders were supplied without perches!! A niger feeder without perches is neither use nor ornament!! This might be a problem with the despatch though, rather than failure on the part of Jacobi Jayne. Fortunately I had a couple of old feeders & was able to use the perches from those. Buyer beware though!!

Great niger seed feeder for the little birds!
Great product for about £10 is well worth it. We found the medium size to be perfect as we often dont get more than 4 finches wanting to be on it at the same time anyway......although saying that .......humans could learn alot from the finches as they que up patiently in tree waiting their turn on feeder.

Fell apart within days
I'm afraid the products made by this manufacturer are not worth wasting your money on. I thought I was saving money by buying seed feeders and a peanut feeder by this brand, but all three items have broken within weeks. The peanut feeder literally lasted a few days - I took it down and found the metal bits that connect the lid to the feeder were all bent and the top just fell off as soon as I touched it. I had to try to put it back up by twisting the metal so it would go through the wire grid, but it's useless and keeps failing apart so it's now in the bin. I had a sunflower heart feeder which ended up falling on the ground (presumably the birds were able to dislodge it easily as this hasn't happened with any of my other feeders). That feeder had come apart after a fall of no more than five feet into a path, and was so badly out of shape that it couldn't be fixed and also had to be binned. I also have a standard Jacobi Jayne seed feeder, and found that was broken today (again the metal part connecting the lid to the rest is bent out of shape and won't fit back again).I have now purchased RSPB feeders, which are more expensive but don't need replacing, show no signs of damage, and are very easy to clean.I would recommend you pay once for better quality feeders rather than paying again and again for poor quality ones.

Good value for money
The birds like this feeder, however I do find that the food doesn’t slide down the tube, it gets a bit damp and stays on the perches which go through the tube. My previous feeder was almost a hallow tube with no restrictions for the food to get caught up on so slid down the tube so didn’t waste as much food, as I have to shake the feeder for the food to move. Also no instructions on how to take it apart for cleaning, which needs to be done more often as the food collects on the perches.

Totally Useless. Do not buy this piece of s**t.
I bought this item because it seemed to be simply a bigger version of my old feeder but the Goldfinches it is intended to feed seem unable to use it. I am currently looking out of the window and whilst there are Goldfinches round the feed station, none are using this feeder and I have now figured out the probable reason. The holes are virtually invisible and they probably cannot see them. Anyway, the upshot is that I filled it a couple of weeks ago and it is still just as full, totally unused.

Decent item, bit flimsy for the price.
Seems pretty good. A little flimsy for the amount paid, but it looks good enough. The slots for the seed are tiny (to the point I wonder if the birds will be able to get it out) but I’m assured by a friend that they are correct. Only hung it out today so hope to see finches by next weekend.
