Doesn't work on new android or ios 13 phones
I've discovered that the phone app that controls the lights, PlayBulb X, does not work with Android 10 or iPhone ios 13. They load, but can't see the lights. Your phone's Bluetooth sees the lights, but the app does not. I had a strng that used to work, but when I went to Android 10, the PlayBulb X app could no longer see the strings. I tried my wife's new iPhone 11, with ios 13 and found the same problem.I dug up a 5 year old Android phone and that is able to control the lights. Mipow, owns the software, needs to update the software to support the latest phones, which hasn't been updated in over a year. Until they don't buy their light strings.

Solid white now! Phew. Only thing Colorful was my language
Wow. So the great news is they have a plug. so you can plug into an outlet with the USB connector. Great. They are thick and look substantial. Great. BUT they came in a flashing color that changes colors. The app(s) DID not work and the only thing more colorful than the bulb was my language. I just wanted plain jane white lights...that do not strobe. What a royal mess. I wanted these for lighting the inside of my camper...just plan old white and have something that could be connect to battery via usb. UPDATE: Gave these to a "techie" friend. She was able to get Playabulb X app to work, after a bit. and she changed these to plain white non-flashing. Phew. Yes! Success! Now I have a great set of lights that are substantial, they have hanging rings, and work either as USB or "110". The cord is FLAT. So It can be mounted flush. I bought a new "camper" and these will make a great addition. I think I am too chicken to attempt the app...least I get back in colorful flashing limboland. Now I may have to get another set!. So as plain jane white lights these are great. If you dare, they are programmable. Go for it. I'm a chicken.

Lights are well made but the app doesn’t work consistently.
I ordered 5 of these to decorate a river birch outside our house. First the lights are very well made and I think they would hold up well outdoors. My problem with these is the app which you need to adjust the lights. I was only able to connect 2 sets at any given time , no matter how close I stood to them. Additional you have to reconnect to the lights every time you want to adjust them. According to the app you are supposed to be able to create a group of multiple sets and adjust them all at once. I could never get this to work.

Nice strand of Christmas lights!
I bought these Playbulb Christmas lights for outdoor use recently, they are very thick and well made. They work pretty good from my testing even when their was a deluge of rain water hitting them, they seem to be waterproof enough. They came with a single piece of green heat shrink wrapping I suppose for the end connector which I used for protecting the extension point from water then added some electrical tape for assurance. The lights don't chase with the phone settings but the other effects settings are great, especially how I can alter the speed of the effects, changing colors, and set a timer. For the price everything offered is well beyond my expectations. These lights in a brick and mortar would range from $50-$75 dollars for the features so it's a very good deal for the price.Just make sure the phone/tablet you use to setup Bluetooth isn't too new, as it doesn't support the latest Android version at this time. I don't know about Apple but other reviewers on here might.Since this is powered by USB it's a good idea to make sure the USB connection and adapter aren't exposed to the elements, doing so would be a really bad idea. In fact for a safety precaution I'd recommend you have a AFCI or GFCI adapter for these lights if outside in the elements. And make a sealed cover for the USB power adapter and USB connector.

Dont bother.
We bought two strands... 3 days in, one of them started having bulbs that wouldnt change colors and were stuck on red, even though the rest of the strand was changing. 5 days in, the entire strand was permanently red and the strand wouldnt show up on the app to adjust. On day 6, I unplugged the strand in hopes of somehow resetting the Bluetooth connection, but they wouldnt even turn back on. Now I have a half lit tree.

Great value for these color changing mini lights
I love these color changing lights I can change them according to my mood or the season. They were very reasonably priced. My only concern is if they don’t always keep updating the app that controls it there is no backup remote. Seems like that should be standard as the app is the only way to control them.

The app needs updating
I would give this a 5 star rating if the app actually worked on newer phones. I had to use my old tablet to get the app to so the lights. My phone connected via Bluetooth but the app couldn't find it.

iPhone controlled LED Xmas
I love these lights that can be controlled by my iPhone. I was happy to see they weren't out of business this year. Last Xmas I had one string too few to cover my tree. I'd like to see them offer more animation choices and especially see them controlled by Alexa. I worry about having to trash them when the software goes unusable. Stay in business and make the product better!!!!
