Awesome tuners
Super smooth and well built! Makes tuning way easier than the stamped fender tuners the bass came with, a worth while upgrade!

Excelent product
I installed these machines on a Squire 50s Vibe Precision bass. fit well with very little modification needed. The bottom screw holes on each machine did not line up but that was expected. Very good quality, solid and smooth tuners

Huge improvement over stock squier tuners.
Excellent tuners. Installed these on a squier PJ I've been modding. Huge improvement over stock squier tuners. Tight positive action. I can't prove it, but it seems to sustain better too. The tiny screw holes don't match up. I filled the holes with round toothpicks and white glue; drilled new holes and mounted them. It was worth the time and effort for me, but might not be something you'd be interested in. That's why only four stars.

Nice product - But…
For a Mexi Fender and likely Squier , you’ll need to drill a couple new screw holes. The other issue without a string retainer on your A string the break angle may be a little too shallow due to the heights of these shafts, and or its shape. Be sure to leave yourself a lot of wrap to keep that A string down…

Great Set Of Tuners
I purchased these for my 20 year old import bass. All I had to do was file out the hole where the shaft goes thru. Once that was done I filled in the mounting holes as new holes had to be drilled to accommodate the new machines. Tip: Do not discard the old screws, the ones that come with the tuners are not of good quality. Other than that you are getting a nice product.

Great upgrade for Squier J Bass
I have a right hand Squier Affinity J Bass and the stock tuners were horrible. The handles actually would come off on 2 of them and sometimes you would hear vibration on certain notes at the headstock and it would stop if you grabbed the loose handles. So this upgrade saved this bass from the trash!! I did have to make the peg holes bigger for these to fit. I just wrapped 100 grit sand paper around a socket from my socket set and sanded until I could tap these in place. I had to drill 2 new small holes for each tuner since 2 of the holes lined up and 2 were covered. I had these installed in an hour and a half easily and I was working at a leisurely pace. What a great upgrade these are from the stock Squier tuners! No more vibration and the tuning stays put and is more accurate. The gear ratio was higher on these so it takes an extra turn or 2 for the tuner to make a complete rotation so these are able to tune to pitch without overshooting and I detect no slop in the gears in either direction. I love these!

I am impressed
I've used Grover tuning machines before, but was still impressed with the quality of these units. They are well made, smooth as silk and offer reliable tuning stability. They fit vintage size peg holes (~18mm) Installation was done on a new neck so I cannot report on how the mounting holes lined up with old units. I can tell you that the bushings are strong enough to handle being tapped into the peg holes with a brass mallet. I used a 1/16" drill bit to create pilot holes for the mounting screws and that was pretty much perfect. I see these tuners lasting forever. If you want a quality set of vintage Fender style tuners, these are a great option.
