Great Customer Service from Jof and the Whynter Team.
Received my Whynter FM-65G 65 Quart on April 22, 2022. I'm a trucker and I was using one of the Coleman Thermo Coolers. The problem was in the summertime, the temp of the Coleman was too warm for my Milk, Cheese and other items. Then I found this beast. Yes it's pricey, but well worth it. Now I enjoy perfectly chilled 37 degree F beverages. I use it every day 24/7 except for the 12-34 hours I get at home per week. I shut it down and wipe it out. It only takes about 30mins or less to get the temp down to 37 degrees in Eco Mode. I have never experienced drained batteries with this thing on.I did have one problem with it. The temperature controller, one of the digits had a line of the led that burnt out. Jof at Whynter Customer service responded quickly and sent me a new controller. It was easy to install myself, I really did not want to be without my cooler by sending it back for repair. They stood behind their product and I thank them for that. I would purchase one again, but I have a feeling I'll retire from trucking long before I need a new one.

Awesome!
This is so awesome, we use it for camping in the spring to fall, and as a deep freezer in the winter. We bought the cover for it and leave it on, it's not pretty in the kitchen lol! But it helps from getting scratched up. We had some issues with the DC cord that came with it, as in it never worked. The tip broke off on first use. But stuff still has stayed cold in a 7 hour drive. We are going to buy the 10ft DC cord, it looks more sturdy, and apparently we're not the only ones with issues with that cord. We've had it running nonstop since we bought it in 2020. Love it!

3 years of awesome refrigeration/freezing
Cools down quickly. Maintains consistent temperature control without running constantly. Very little draw on my older gel cells, or newer lithiums. Only drawback is that it is a little noisy, like any refrigerator.

Trucker tested and approved
Had this refrigerator in my truck for a comfortable months now. The temperature control is not the greatest but does better than the typical coolers available at truck stops. I typically keep my drinks in the smaller area and open and close it all day while driving. I have the passenger seat taken out and it fits perfectly with room to spare for me to easily get back in the sleeper.Issues I don’t like is the cord wiggles out of the socket. It has some kind of battery backup for display that I didn’t know about and still don’t really understand. Temperature kept going up no matter what I did until I figured out the cord kept coming loose. The second thing is it will freeze water if you don’t find the sweet spot if using like a cooler instead of freezer.Other than those little issues I would highly recommend this to my fellow drivers. I got the extended warranty from Amazon along with freezer. I go through a lot of coolers and this time if something happens I’ll just have Amazon fix the issue.

Powerful beast, but not something I'd move very often
For those of you truckers, the Coleman fridge isnt good for more than about 5 months of use, and then its time to upgrade asap before it takes a crap, costing you all the food you had stocked. As for this... while they made a smaller unit, The price difference between this one and the next smallest one, made it a no brainer on which one to get. More space for cheaper price....So, After using this for a few months, I gotta say I love it. There are a few things to keep in mind when getting this. One, its either a fridge or a freezer. It doesnt do both at the same time. You can set it to 15 degrees and it will keep everything nicely frozen(ice cream even). You can alternatively set it to 30 degrees, and it will keep everything cold enough to satisfy, but not so cold it freezes anything(so no milksicles). The problem here is that I like having some stuff frozen, and other stuff just plain cold. So, what I did was get a peice of foam insulation(the hard board kind) and cut it to size and fit it into the cooler. It created a partition, allowing the stuff closest to the cooling unit to stay frozen, while the stuff thats on the other side, stays cold, but not TOO cold. Fair warning, you might have to poke very small holes in the partition if its not allowing enough cold through depending on how good your insulation is. I would try it without poking holes to see how this method works for you.The reason I took away a star though is because of the handles, and how heavy it is. The weight isnt an issue until you go to move it into or out of the truck. Expect to ask for help depending on how much you bench. According to amazon, its 62 lbs, but adding in a little groceries that might still be in it when you move it, you can look at upwards to 80 lbs(possibly more). Lifting that much up into the cab is a tough chore that I can only do through the passenger side, especially if you got kinda lazy from lack of exercise. The problem I have(which you might have gathered from other reviews) is the quality of the handles. Some basic metal handles would do wonders here, but instead, they used crappy plastic ones that pop off, and I suspect will break one day while trying to carry it. If handled wrong, yes, they come off REALLY easily. I warn you not to trust them too much. aside from the handles, this thing is amazingly sturdy. Definitely built for rugged use, just clearly not built to be moved very often. Also, for those of you thinking of using them in a truck, it WILL NOT fit into the preset compartment built for your fridge in most trucks. Only the ones that dont have a cabinet to house the fridge(Internationals are one) will fit this. I have a Freightshaker Columbia and ended up putting it into the lower bunk and sleeping up in the top. Currently asking permission from the company to unbolt the cabinet and store it in the terminal's parts trailer so I can put this on the floor between the seat and bunk. Alternatively, you can sit it on the floor in front of your bunk, but its a huge waste of space, and horrible to climb over every morning. I suppose if you dont have two bunks, you might not have a choice, but thats totally on you to figure out. Ill post exact measurements later when I get the chance. On a final note for those of you who want to try to keep it in the bunk next to you. If you lean against it and try to sleep with it in the bunk, every time it kicks on, it might wake you up as it shudders from the compressor kicking on. I actually thought there was something wrong with the truck for a week until I realized it was the fridge shuddering and not the actual truck. You wont notice this until you are actually leaning against it or sitting directly next to it.

A Revolution to Camping!
I purchased the Whynter Portable 65 quart Refrigerator/Freezer in the spring of 2017. During the summer we camped for 10 days in a remote site with a 120 watt solar panel connected to a 12 volt battery providing the only source of power. The results were quite amazing. Whynter provided us with a portable fridge that kept our meats, dairy products, beverages etc. cold. I mean cold. The fridge was set at 35 degrees F and cycled between 33 to 38 degrees. Contrary to what another reviewer said I found the unit very quiet and barely noticeable as it ran (I had often to put my ear beside the fan to double check that it was working.) I highly recommend this product and even my sceptical wife has become a great fan of the fridge (no more having to manage ice for the cooler over the holiday.) The latches seem well made and were easy to use. If I had one complaint it was that the dc cord male plug that goes into the dc outlet seems a bit flimsy. Otherwise an excellent product and my only regret is that we didn’t buy the bigger 85 quart version. As an extra test I put the Whynter fridge in the garage on a warm day (70 F) and let it run on a 12 volt battery for 24 hours to see how much draw the unit would make. Starting from a fully charged state at 12.7 volts the battery after 24 hours of running was reduced to 12.2 volts. Now the fridge was empty at the time and was never opened during this test so a real life camping experience was not totally replicated. But still, I was very impressed that after 24 hours of running the battery still had around 50% charge remaining. It means that any reasonable solar panel/battery combo can keep up with the Whytner fridge. At this point we can say nothing about the durability of the product. It does look well made to my eyes and we hope to have for many years of camping. This fridge has certainly revolutionized our camping experience.

Very good Unit.
Have had the unit almost a year and a half. Use it on my boat. Works very well. As some other reviewers have mentioned it is a bit noisy so you wouldn't want it near or in a sleeping area, but otherwise it is excellent value. I have not had any problem with the handles breaking as has been mentioned in other reviews, but, I have also been careful not to lift it when it is full.

I received this freezer early which was nice. I've been using it for two months on my fish boat and it has been working very well so far. The automatic shut off for a low battery is a nice feature. It has kept me from killing my battery a few times. Very pleased.
