VehoVHS-001-SK Cave Starter Kit Smart Home Security Alarm System, 1 Count (Pack of 1)

What I like is that it is not dependant on any paid provider. I got cameras from another source and found that they only worked with this system. (silly me) I though I should try it as I could return everything if it did not do the job. It did so I kept it. It has some nice bits a battery for the home server where everything is kept and where the connection to to the outside world is. It also has a sim slot for if the site is remote an / or bereft of internet or the failure of. The setup is a little quirky but stick with it it works. The outside alarm and internal sensor are not cheap which are the main drawback but the cameras are very affordable. The nag is the lack of control over the video recording / playback - especialy the playback the best you can do is a snapshot else you have to play everything except the red line moments of detection not just the alarm? a little weird. The remote to arm is great so you could isolate top from bottom of the house or variants of. This is a starter kit without cameras so quite basic but with patience it does the job and with resonable control.

Very easy to install. The app has a user friendly interface. The alarm system works well. I like that I can easily add components when I want more. It would be better if it was Alexa or Siri compatible. Home feels much more secure now. Very happy with this alarm system.

Second UPDATE. After 3 weeks use I can confirm that the alarm system is very unreliable, frequently failing to go off when we return home even though armed, and still no response from any method of contacting support (through the app, through the website, through Amazon) As such reduced rating to 2 star for the times it does work.First UPDATE. After using this for a while I have found a number of issues with the kit and the app and despite several attempts through different channels have been unable to get any response from the company. As a result of this lack of support and the issues found I have reduced my rating to 3 stars.The initial setup was a bit difficult and unclear (and I am quite computer savvy), several times it told me changes I tried to make had failed when actually they hadn't. Couldn't get it to arm and disarm initially but turned it all off and tried again the next day when it worked fine. Does what I need in terms of remote monitoring although it would be nice to get the battery level of the detectors remotely rather than just notification when they are failing! App is adequate but not particularly intuitive. More cost effective than comparable Ring alarm.

The sms function never worked. All settings are correctly changed. Sim is functional. Asked for help but support is non existent. If your internet is cut by burglar, you will never know what is happening remotely. Camera can't erase video one by one.After 1 year the app can't connect to the camera outside of the local network. Now the system is useless. I've reset everything, confirmed port forwarding is in place. Still nothing. Other apps works but this doesnt.

The units themselves work great. The problem is with the app, which is the only way to setup and control it (other than the remote). The app is slow to arm and disarm, even when on the same network and its not very user friendly. Setup was a nightmare on iOS, basically didnt work, Android worked fine.

Easy to install

I picked up this kit as well as the additional IP camera and found it really easy to set up, adding the unit such as the motion sensor with ease.The product performs well in general operation, with the option to arm/disarm via the app, or even the widget making it even easier.The product is fairly new to market, so I look forward to seeing future updates and additions. External, waterproof cameras would be a bonus.

I am so impressed with myVeho Cave. I bought my Veho Cave for my business after a bad experience with another security product .I found it easy to install and it gave me great peace of mind.There are so many useful features.I now have a Cave installed in my home.I have several Veho products and have always been very satisfied with them.
