After having it for 6 months
After having this in my great room for 6 months...I find that the collection of art is pretty weak. The samples only stay on there for a few minutes. The free art of the month that can stay up all the time was ok until February when naked women (albeit "art") started showing up and my kids were like, 'what's what?' Even the free sample art gets boring after a while (yes, like only 5 photos rotate over a months timespan). When setting my own art, the photo sometimes randomly disappears. The next morning it ALWAYS disappears and goes back to the free sample for 5 minutes and then a black screen with "for unlimited viewing, please upgrade to a premium subscription"So after all of this, what does my screen do now? Well, my screen comes on in the morning at 7am and says, "For unlimited viewing, please upgrade to a premium subscription". Because I don't want to pay extra for art I don't like and I don't want to go to the trouble of setting a photo every day only to see it wiped out minutes later or definitely by the next day. Then my screen shuts off at 11pm. It's really funny now and it's the talk of the neighborhood. I'm proud of my $1000 investment I say.To improve this, I'd like to see is the ability to hook up a amazon photos stream and randomly show photos out of a specified folder share (or from a local NAS). This seems pretty basic. I was surprised that it didn't have something like this. I shared this feedback with the company, maybe they'll improve it?Let's hope for an app update soon, otherwise it'll be in the annual neighborhood yardsale.

Beautiful frame in need of user image features
The good:* The frame and screen are both of good quality. You won’t regret making it a centerpiece of your room.* Art pulled down from the Depict-curated galleries is at full 4K and looks amazing.* Customer support has also been communicative and helpful.* Depict promises an update is due anytime now to address user requests and issues, though I don’t know what those updates will be or when that will drop. The bad:* As has been noted here already, user images are not remembered when the frame goes to sleep or is powered off.* There’s no concept of a gallery or slideshow available for user images.* This is a biggie for me: User images are NOT displayed in 4K (customer support confirmed this). I’m guessing they’re sampled at 1920x1080 and it shows. My own images look notably worse than those pulled from the Depict galleries.* The selection of curated works is small compared to what Meural offers. This isn’t my main motivation so it’s not a huge issue for me, but it’s worth noting.* There’s no way to control the frame outside your home’s network. I.e. the app will not work if you’re not home as it operates over the local network only. So no way to turn it off, sling images to it remotely, etc...

Exquisite Digital Art Canvas
This digital art canvas has been an amazing addition to my home!First, the ability to switch orientations from portrait to landscape with just a turn using its own special swiveling wall mount is amazing. Though I use mine in landscape only.Secondly, the 49” 4K display is crisp and vivid. It highlights art wonderfully in my home.Lastly, the depict app makes it easy to flip through the curated collections of digital artwork. You can also control anything from scheduling, brightness, and display your own pictures!Customer service is top notch, too. I highly recommend this purchase.

Missing key features and seriously limited library of art.
The frame of the frame is very bulky and the display and operating system lack several features that are standard for modern displays, such as auto brightness based on ambient light. The library is what I’m most disappointed in; only a few items added per month, and the vast majority is the “new digital art format” which are essentially screen savers of geometric colors, and nothing like the vast library of fine art the company promises. There hasn’t been a decent painter added to the collection since I’ve owned the depict frame, although there was a minimal collection of good paintings to begin with. Lastly, I had so many issues with the first one that Depict sent a second one for free. I haven’t even bothered hanging it in my house, and I still wish I had known about the Samsung frame TV before buying this and waiting for months

Oh I wish it grows up!!
The good. The frame is a high quality product. Images are very vivid and crispCustomer service is responsive - I had an issue with back light leaking and they promptly replaced the frame. The bad -It appears that the company primarily wants to focus on subscription which is about $240/yr. My primary interest is to show case my own photos. The frame claims it has support for displaying personal images but that it very very limited. Once the frame wakes up from sleep it removes your personal image. There is no capability to do slideshows of personal images nor be able to pull images from a third party site like flicker etc. Depict keeps saying that they are going to add support for this but it has been over 6 months. Feature cycle on such products need to be quicker than 6 months.I wish that the frame grows up and provide more capability like image mirroring from a mobile device, Alexa integration, Dimming capability based on time of day, Integration with photo hosts such as SmugMug/Flickr etc.

Overpriced with featureless technology.
Don't read the apps on their site they only publish good reviews. Read the reviews here. This is an overpriced TV screen with a completely featureless app. You can't upload your own images and retain them because they want you to buy their overpriced subscription for art you're not interested in. The app is only on IOS and is buggy and difficult to use. This is most likely going to end up being sold on ebay.

stay away
after almost 2 years the frame stopped updating the pictures. in addition the image is flickering. Since there is no available external connections it became a 'dead' spot on the wall. In addition, it looks like the company out of business, helpdesk doesn't respond , web site is 'dead'. DON'T BUY.
