A Lannister always pays his debts! Worth every penny.
What can I say, it's a Lagavulin, it's a new age statement at 9 years and it's at 46% ABV. Also, it comes in that sexy GoT Lannister packaging! The sweet smokey peat you would expect from a Lagavulin with hints of caramelized banana and fire roasted marshmallow... Glorious stuff, don't miss out.

Nice addition to the range
This 9 year old expression has all the characteristics you'd expect from an Islay single malt, deep, peaty smoke, bold flavours and an underlying salinity. Bought as a very good deal for almost half the marked price and worth every penny.

Slowly buying the collection
I can't comment on flavour, as we are yet to open any of the ones we have bought, but we are slowly buying this collection. They are stunning and make perfect presents for my husband!

Save yourself a few quid and buy the superior 16yo or 8yo
Bought this for about £50 in December 2019. I'm a huge fan of Lagavulin anyway, with the 16yo being one of my favourite everyday drams. When I saw this on offer, I thought it would be rude not to...Nose: definitely a Lagavulin; a little sweeter and more citrussy than the 16yoPalate: similar to the 8yo, although (surprisingly) a bit less refined and smooth - smoke, peat, phenols, brineFinish: shorter and more intensely boozy than the 16yo; closer in character to the 8yo, but with a faint touch of mint/mentholAll in all, it's very pleasant but it's abundantly clear that the usual price premium comes from the marketing tie-in rather than any particularly special element of the whisky itself. It's not a bad whisky but it's not a patch on the 16yo or even the 8yo, both of which can be purchased for significantly less than the RRP on this.Having never seen Game of Thrones, I can only evaluate the branding on how it looks to me, rather than how well it ties in with the show. I'm not a big fan of marketing tie-ins but this at least looks attractive on its own merits: the lion motif wouldn't look out of place on one of Highland Park's recent releases.Overall, an interesting dram but more expensive than the superior 16yo and 8yo. Unless you want it for its novelty value or as a gift for a big GoT fan, just save yourself some money and buy the 16yo instead - you won't regret it.

Perfect Lagavulin quality - a must try
Bought on offer and although it's not worth the same price as the 16yo it's at least on a par for taste and quality. Yes, the marketing with GoT is a gimmick, but it's an age statement whisky that is perfect Lagavulin. Higher ABV than the 16 and despite the younger age it's silky smooth.Banoffee pie with salted caramel on the palate and a more briny nose than the 16, it manages a lingering finish that begs for more. Glad I bought 2 bottles while it was on offer... Highly recommended

Delicious tasting
Not expecting this to be as good as it was. I love the normal lagavulin and have had many bottles. And only tried a dram of the distillers. But this is sweet with a hint of smoke. I drank half a bottle in my first tasting and didn’t realise.

A hit!
Other half is a GoT fan, and a whisky fan, so what better gift to get than this?Tastes great neat, over ice, and with the odd mixer. (we tried raspberry Pepsi over the Christmas period. Winner)

Well presented
Great whisky well presented in the G.O.T. livery. To get 9 year old lagavulin for under £40 is bargain.A superb tasting whisky highly recommend

...siempre bebe buen whisky.

Not bad but the 16 and 8 are better
Not bad but this is more of a novelty for Game of Thrones fans. The 16YO and 8YO are noticeably better although pricier too.

Ottimo livello
Buonissimo. sapore intenso e lungo, meno torbato del Lagavulin 16 year. Da bere e collezionare.
