This book contains so much information that my youngest daughter who was doing a report about Mallard ducks got an A! It has more then enough information about these ducks. Even though she didn’t need that much, she still likes it because she loves ducks. She’d read then and now and tell me some fascinating facts about them. She told me that she loved how the book organizes some information

I wanted more info about mallards in the wild, not as pets.

An overview to keeping Mallards that does contain a lot of obvious information, which some people might not mind being reminded of, and some that you are never likely to need, which of course could still be of interest. It is quite a formal read; you don't hear the voice of a friendly person talking to you about what's best for your bird. However, the thing I found off-putting was all the grammatical mistakes, typos and missing words as if the book was edited in a big hurry or not edited at all, as if readers were not worthy of a polished manuscript. For that I would have expected to pay half the price and this is the reason for the low number of stars. I found more useful information online. However, if you can ignore the slipshod way it has been printed this serves as an OK introduction for someone who prefers collected information in a book in hand rather than searching online. That said, quite a few Internet sites are provided in a Resources section at the back of the book, so you could do both if you wanted.

I was impressed by the information in the book. I already keep Mallard ducks and needed some questions and guidance and this book answered all my queries. I have got some books about mallards but this is by the best I've read so far. Definitely recommend it
