Great Product!!!
These molds work great! I made sets to give to my kindergarten students for Christmas. The crayons turned out very cute! One thing that worked well for me was to use two crayons in the long (crayon) part of each mold and melt for 15 minutes. Then I put in a third crayon and let that melt with the others for another 10 minutes. Doing it this way saved me from having to break the crayons into little pieces along the thin part of the mold. I did use little pieces to melt in the head of each mold. Now I’m thinking of making some for the pediatric ward at our local hospital. It was so easy and fun!

Great product.
I bought this on a whim as an way to teach about the way matter can change states. Crayons are a hands on way for my child to get involved in the process (solid to a liquid and back again) and have something tangible afterwards that wouldn’t melt away and act as a reminder of the process. These fantastic little molds add just the right amount of fun in the task. The How-To pamphlet that arrived inside the package is very well done with pictures and clearly worded instructions. We’ve used them once and plan to use them again soon. I plan to update if there are any issues with long term use (though I don’t anticipate any). Very satisfied with my purchase!

Very cute but break easily.
These are really cute, well made crayon molds. I used them with my elementary students at school when we learned about physical changes and states of matter in science. I teach in a small Catholic school with only seven students in my class, so everybody got 2 crayons with the set of fourteen. The only reason I gave them a 4 out of 5 was because it was really hard to get the crayons out without breaking off details like ears. Some of them came out great, though! The other reason is that the crayons are kind of fragile and break easily. One of the perfect ones dropped on the floor and instantly shattered. Normal crayons don't do that, and little kids aren't especially gentle with crayons. It was still a fun project, but be forewarned, and definitely have an adult pop out the crayons!

Fantastic, make awesome crayons!
These molds are awesome and make really nice crayons. It says in the instructions that it takes about 3 crayons to make 1 animal crayon but we used more like 4-5. We would start with 3 and melt them and then add more crayon on top. Easy to pop out if you follow their directions (refrigerate for 60 minutes) and look great. They are really, really difficult to clean. I ended up just snapping the big chunks off and then would put them in the oven to get the wax soft and wipe the best I could with a paper towel. Really though, once they’re used for crayons that’s the end, they’ll be crayon molds forever. Not that we mind, my kids love making them!

These are so fun!
These make great crayons, and the fun animal shapes double as entertaining puppet-like toys for our 4-year-old (not to mention a wonderful way to recycle all the crayon bits we collect over time). We've done 2 batches of both trays so far, and I definitely recommend trying to fill the molds as much as possible. In the first batch we left them emptier resulting in thinner crayons that broke more easily, so we re-used most of those in the second batch and added more crayon pieces. I haven't really tried to clean them yet because we don't intend to use them for anything besides crayons, so can't speak to that.

I LOVE THESE
I seriously love these so much! They're so so easy to use and easy to clean. I just adore these. They're my favorite silicone molds that I've ever used (and I have a lot of experience with silicone molds through various crafts and baking). My only complaint is that it sometimes is too easy to crack the crayon at the tip because it's so thin. Other than that, it's perfect!

Messy Mix Of Colors In The Mold
I had high expectations for these molds. I needed bigger and thicker crayons for my toddler. I had lots of old, broken crayon pieces in various colors. After removing the papers from each crayon, I placed pieces of three (recommended amount by enclosed booklet) yellow crayons in one mold, peach in another and so on. My suggestion would be to lay the mold onto an old baking sheet or pan (line pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil) to catch spills. Otherwise it will result in a messy clean-up in the oven and hardened wax in the pan. I found that upon melting, the cavity wasn't quite full and crayons would have looked rather thin. After about ten minutes of melting crayons in the oven, I decided to add one more crayon of each color in the mold to make thicker crayons. Altogether the bake time was about twenty minutes. When removing from oven, you need to be very, very careful if you are planning not to combine the colors. This was when I ran into difficulty. Although I tried to be careful, removing the mold from the oven proved to be quite tricky (not sure why.. maybe my oven isn't perfectly leveled). Sadly the colors of each crayon started spilling into the corresponding cavities, creating the mix of colors that I was trying to avoid. I quickly grabbed dry paper towels and dabbed at the blended spots in an attempt to remove the other colors from each cavity. It took about 5-6 paper towels and there were still traces of brown in the green crayon, white in the peach etc... I let the crayons rest on the counter for a few minutes before cooling them in the oven for about 30 minutes. This activity may prove futile if you are not planning to make rainbow crayons. But if you're looking for something to do with the extra crayon pieces and don't mind the rainbow mix, you might like to try this.

My students love the crayons!
I made these crayons for my students to encourage them to use crayons in addition to using markers, which they use all the time. It worked. They love them. As far as the molds, they work great. After melting the crayons, I turn off the oven and let them cool in the oven. This way I’m not trying to move the flexible trays with melted wax and spilling it. I did that only once! The trays didn’t clean up really well, but didn’t matter to me because I didn’t mind if colors ran into each other.
