Good Yarn with Nice Colors
I bought this yarn for the Vertical Lines Baby Blanket project (on the Plymouth Yarns website) and it is knitting up exactly as expected. If this is your plan, make sure to carefully read the pattern. This is for a blanket that will measure 22 inches by 27 inches when it's complete, assuming your gauge matches the pattern. This makes a small blanket for a preemie or for a car seat. Since I am making a blanket for a preemie it will be the size I expect. A crib blanket is generally larger, or around 40 inches by 60 inches. If you plan to make a crib blanket and not a preemie blanket you will need 4 of these cakes and to cast on 178 stitches (double what's listed in the pattern). Then follow the pattern the same as it is written, but knit Rows 1 and 2 to 58 inches instead of 25 inches.As others have mentioned, there are knots in the cake, so it is not entirely self-striping. Just mostly. I pulled my yarn from the center and it's proving to be easy to work with and knitting up fast. The colors are cute, complementary pastels and I'm excited to give this to a friend who just had a preemie. I'm happy for her to have something that's machine washable that she won't have to worry about blocking.

The yarn was very nice, however the blanket pattern and the size of the finish product as advertised was very deceiving.This does not reflect the vender selling the yarn. It’s the deception by the makers of Plymouth yarn.
