International Medcom CRM-100 Digital Radiation Monitor

The CRM100 general purpose geiger counter is excellent for the price.It will measure for FOUR things: Alpha, Beta, Gamma and X-Ray. For the home user this unit is excellent. There are more sensitive/professional geiger counters out there but those cost big money and are geared for professional users.The Good Stuff:#1: Price for what you get!#2: Easy to learn and use "anybody can use this."#3: Not too big and light weight.#4: Comes with a nice black nylon velcroed carrying bag.#5: Comes with Easy Quick Guide that's not technical.#6: Big display and easy to see.#7: No calibrating needed (factory guaranteed for twelve months).The Ugly Stuff:#1: It's made of plastic and if dropped it could break.#2: It's not waterproof.> NOTE: This unit will not detect radioactive food (like fish). You'll need a very expensive, professional unit for that. NOBODY has a inexpensive detector for that unfortunately.For the home user and curious this is your geiger counter.I can recommend this. :)

I wanna first say I dont know a lot of radiation..I still learning but I was looking for a reliable device.This was the cheapest I found the CRM 100. I was looking into a few different geiger counter..most were cheaper. My first one was ok but I found the reading seem way to low and random. I decided to go for the CRM-100 and I am very happy with the device.I watched a good bit videos of Tom from Anti-Proton.com who used the CRM-100 amoung other geiger counters. Tom gave the CRM-100 a very positive review. Tom along with other review are correct, the geiger muller tube is small but I found it more responsive than the other unit I purchased before.I would strongly recommend this Geiger Counter in comparison to other geiger counter.

so far-so good-I just wished Amazon would have used more air bubble in their box-as it was the unit was able to slide inside the box-good thing Intl Medcom did a good job of boxing the product on their end

The unit works. You can turn the sound off. I purchased this unit to see if the tea I get from Japan is/was radioactive. I am happy to report it was not. The unit is not very rugged and it is not waterproof. It should not be dropped or get wet. I used it and put it back in the box. When I get new Tea I'll use it again. What it measures for the price is acceptable.

Impressed...it identifies all three radiation sources: alpha which is also Radon Gas in homes, beta and gamma. Last news report said Fukashima is still spilling "300 tons per day" from nuclear damaged plants...use this to monitor food and water around the world, etc.

very well done...it give s the reading fast and accuratly.....I would not hesitate to recommend this to any one interested in this field.......

Serves its purpose well. I have been exposed to radiation (treatment) and this definitely works.

The geiger mueller tube in this product is VERY SMALL & tebds to miss most ofthe radiation in any specific area
