Preparing To Be a Help Meet

READ THIS!
I highly recommend this book for women who are courting, of age to court or even, if you just want your daughter to be preparing for the day when she becomes a wife. I read this book several months before I got engaged and now that I am married, I will say it has made a world of difference. It talks about the importance of being mindful, prepared, chaste and many other biblical characteristics that are expected of a good woman. My husband (we got married in September 2015), was surprised by how much I had already researched and was very thankful that I had taken the time to learn so many things about health, pregnancy, childbirth, home making, marriage, and cooking before we got married because it has made his life (and mine) easier plus more enjoyable. I was already a frugal person and a great cook thanks to years of practice, but I think this book was a great reminder non-the-less. We decided not to use any methods of child prevention (after I'd done my research on birth controls, I discovered that the Almighty doesn't actually recommend "waiting" to have children, but rather, He says that they are blessing straight from Him, and the beginning of wisdom/knowledge is fearing and respecting the Lord Yahweh/Jehovah. So if He says they're a blessing I will not tell him, NO thanks but I know best and they are an 'inconvenience" right now) so before we got married I had done lots of research on costs of child rearing, ways to shrink those costs, and things I needed to know about childbirth to mentally and emotionally prepare. In the end it has really paid off, since I am now 6 1/2 months pregnant (with only 15 pounds gained, because I found out that women shouldn't be gaining much more than 22lbs during pregnancy when they're of a healthy weight beforehand) and I have been very healthy/aware of what's okay and what isn't and when anything that I know is unusual (because I've done my research and been prepared thanks to this book) I can call my midwife and we can address it if we need to (which we paid off in two months, thanks to our frugality! Not because the midwife was cheap).Other books I recommend are: Love Your Husband/ Love Yourself by Jennifer Flanders, Dressing with Dignity, Painless Childbirth (by Giuditta Tornetta), Childbirth without fear by Dick Read Grantly, and Ina May's Guide to Natural Childbirth. Also for those of you who do wonder about the costs of raising children, especially a baby, this is an awesome brief article that will definitely give you some hope and shed some much needed light on the topic: [...](also factor in how much the midwife or hospital will cost and that's the cost of the first year) :) <3Blessings <3

I'm preparing to be a help meet
I'm am a huge fan of Mrs. Pearl's book&Mp3 Created to Be a Help Meet. As a matter of fact, I have bought just about every book that she and her husband, Mr. Pearl have written related to this topic. When I exercise, clean or am on my way to work I regularly listen to the Created to Be a Help Meet Mp3 and find the instructions and message very inspirational, challenging and, at times very entertaining. So I purchased Preparing to Be a Help Meet expecting much of the same, and was not disappointed. However, as a single woman in her late 30s, wishing I had know about this message many, moons ago, I often felt that the message was written only for pure young women in their 20s. I often wondered if there is any hope for me because I too want to be in God's will and one day be a help meet. I live in New York City and regularly attend a Bible believing church and yet I have yet to meet anyone. It's gotten to the point to where I am seriously thinking about signing up on an online dating website for Christians. Is that in God's plan for my life, I don't know. I wish Mrs. Pearl would have addressed online dating in her book, or maybe she did and I missed that section. Should a christian sign up on an online dating website? Inquiring minds want to know. Anyway, enough about me. My only other issue is that Mp3 are difficult to download onto the new Ipod Touch, it does not recognize the Mp3 format. It would be nice if maybe the books could be made available on the Apple App store or Audible.com so that people can download them onto Ipods, Zooms, etc...In the end, all I can tell you is that if you are a single, open minded woman and want to learn more about how to be a Help Meet, this teaching is for you.

Very Balanced Book
This book has helped me and encouraged me so much! It is a wonderful book for any young lady who is seeking the Lord in the area of relationships.Far from being a list of do's and don'ts, this book focuses primarily on the heart attitudes that will either bless or curse a girl's marriage. Purity in relationships is a very good thing but too many of the books that I have read on purity have made me afraid to even talk to a boy! This book is very helpful in that it legitamizes that fact that we as young ladies WILL be attracted to young men but it offers wisdom and advice on how to handle this in a godly and appropriate manner. The book in fact ENCOURAGES open, honest, and non-romantic friendships between Christian young people!I loved all the different courtship stories in this book because they were all so different. Instead of offering a "formula" to find the perfect guy and have a godly relationship this book had many encouraging testimonies from people of all walks of life. It did not push one "way" to do a courtship but instead encouraged godly principles that would look different in different circumstances. And if you think this book is just about courtship and dating, you're wrong. Some of the best parts of the book are about how to serve God in your youth and what to do in your singleness. It encourages young ladies to stop dreaming about the "right one" and start BEING the right one. Instead of wasting time between your school years and marriage, this book encouraged being active in learning, gaining knowledge and skills, serving in ministry, and building friendships.Oh, and there are some really fun chapters that explore different personalities and how they interact! :)This book was such a blessing to me and brought such freedom to the way I view guys and relationships. I would reccomend this book to EVERY young lady because I found it so balenced. Thanks for such and encouraging book!

Enough stories to cover as much base as possible
I love this book because it contained Enough stories to cover as much base as possible, both the good and bad/sad examples. I would recommend this to any lady wanting to be a help meet according to God's biblical standards. There are also tools to help you work through the book so that it is not just a novel.
