Picture quality is excellent including recordings to the sd card. Optical zoom retains the same quality at longer distances. But there's a lot of disappointments. 1). It won't look upwards. It will move all around and down to the ground below but won't go beyond horizontal so no chance of bird spotting up in trees. 2). Altering the zoom setting is very slow and causes the image to go out of focus. So, unlike a camcorder, it might take 20 seconds to zoom-in then re-focus, ruining a precious recording. 3). The Eye4 software is very basic. You can't scan the recordings (FF or REV) and you can't FRAME ADVANCE. These would be so useful if being used as a security camera. 4) Another software problem, my pc and laptop can both see live images from this camera but when I try to download recordings from the sd card it says 'Unable to connect'. My Android phone can receive them but viewing a 5" screen is not as good as viewing 22". It's all a bit clunky and user un-friendly.

The product very hard to assemble,very difficult to pair it together with internet,very blurry pictures and the seller not even willing to help !! Very rud and arrogant!! Do not recommend endless you are a electrician!
