Throttle body replacement made easy
Great choice for DIYers. The auto shop wanted over $600 to replace the throttle body on my 2010 Dodge Caliber. This one was almost 10x less, was delivered in one day, easy to install, and worked the first time. Just be careful not to over-torque the four mounting screws, and do the proper ECM reset sequence after installation, step-by-step. I did the so-called "manual" reset which is described on many websites, and DOES NOT require a scan tool. Here it is in case there are any doubters: (1) Insert the key: into the ignition. Turn the key to the "ON" position, which powers the dashboard lights, but do not start the engine. (2) Wait for about 10 seconds: to allow the throttle body and ECM to initialize. (3) Slowly press the accelerator pedal all the way down: to the floor. (4) Hold the pedal down for approximately 3 seconds . (5) Slowly release the accelerator pedal: back to the resting position. Repeat the process: of pressing and releasing the pedal two more times. (6) Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position: and remove it from the ignition for at least 10 seconds. (7) Start the engine: and let it idle for a few minutes without touching the accelerator. The idle speed may vary as the ECM relearns the settings. No scanner required. No dealer required. Truly a great DIY experience.

2014 Jeep Patriot replacement
It was for my 2014 Jeep Patriot and it’s only been about a week since I’ve installed it, but it’s working like a champ! The installation was very easy and fit exactly where it was supposed to and connected to the OEM plugs. I’ve seen other reviews that didn’t have the same connectors but mine did. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures but it was identical to the OEM that went bad. If anything changes I will change/modify my review based on longevity/ durability.

Update, almost 2 years, no issues
(2016 Jeep Compass) If you can do simple bolt on/off projects, you won't have any trouble with this. This is our only car, so I went slow and it still only took 45 minutes. To start, I found it easier to take out the battery, which is only 2-3 minutes to do. If you have big hands or are half-blind (I'm both), take out the battery. Once you have the throttle body hose off, use a bungee cord to keep the radiator hose pulled out of the way. The two most tedious parts are the sensor on the throttle body and an engine bracket. (1st) I chose to unbolt the throttle body first and then lift it up to take off the sensor. The sensor has to be squeezed on both sides to come off and I couldn't get to it with it still bolted on. (Mess the sensor up and you've really got a problem) (2nd) Would be that on a Compass, the two inner throttle body bolts are connected to a bracket on the engine. Not much to the bracket other than lining it up when you put it back on. (I took the bracket bolt out of the engine and then put it back it once I had the throttle body on.} Note: Don;t let any of this intimidate you. When you're done, you'll admit was easy and you just saved yourself $400 plus. Also, there are a couple of good videos out there showing how to do this. Just do a search and you will see them. UPDATE: Almost 2 years and no issues. UPDATE: Over 5 years now, no issues.

You get what you pay for
It's super easy to install, I just had it fail again so it lasted almost a year. Not bad for the price. Got me out of a bind when I needed it. If you need a quick cheap replacement until you can get an OEM part, this is it.

Perfect fit that repaired the engine dying and running on reduced power.
We watched a YouTube video that described our exact problem of random dying when stopping at lights or traffic. Then starting back up with reduced power and check engine light on. The problem appears in the vicinity of 70,000 miles. The throttle body has a plastic gear inside that wears as the throttle goes up and down. The spring tension is so strong it accelerates the wear. We unhooked the linkage and worked it by hand feeling the slop and occasionally locking up. We ordered this new throttle body and hooked it up and it was perfect like when new. My son in law had had it to several shops and plugs and coils were replaced with no change, fuel filters, air filter, and engine oil and filter changed with no improvement. We then went to AutoZone and purchased the $350.00 scan tool and this scan tool had the advanced troubleshooting capability and we were able to get the specific problem of the erratic idling being the throttle body not zeroing out its position count. Then we went to YouTube and entered a description of our findings and found a perfect video that stepped us through the troubleshooting, clarifying several items, and opening up the throttle body showing the stripped plastic gear. We replaced the throttle body and the engine instantly ran and accelerated like it did when new.

Product shipped in two days, had vehicle back in action and saved tons of MONEY!
This replaced the one on my 2014 Jeep patriot. Vehicle went into limp mode. As with everyone else, thought I would put in my two cents, but it's typical the plastic gears stripped! I doubt there are replacement ones made out of metal which last! But, other than cost savings there may be technical reasons for making them out of plastic. The replacement was not all that hard, the one hard part is getting to the lower band clamp screw witch is difficult! Don't try using a screwdriver, use a 8mm socket with some sort of small ratchet, much easier! I did clean and lube with a little KY gel the inside lip of the lower air intake hose, this makes it slip on easily and completely, it is difficult to see and you must make sure its on, oh and im sure vaseline and such would work, I don't use auto oils because they can cause breakdown of the rubber! I did not perform any programming, and I don't think any is required for this vehicle, I did clear the code, start the vehicle up and let idle until it reached operating temperature then went for a drive, all good and the car has good pickup!

Probably better to find something else. It worked when it worked but not for long.
Originally purchased in Oct 2022 to replace the factory original throttle body in my 2012 Jeep Compass. Installation was very straight forward, and it fixed my issue. Within a year, the TB had failed again. It was throwing a code (I'm sorry I don't remember the exact code). It was replaced under warranty. Fast forward to July 2025 and the replacement has failed yet again. This time the company refuses to warranty it even though it meets the criteria for replacement. Amazon won't let me link their company's actual website where you can see the actual warranty spelled out. When I pointed out to them the wording, they just responded that they only replace it once. (Grammer and punctuation matter gents). So original lasted just over ten years and their product had to be replaced twice in less than three years. You have to ask yourself, is it worth it to save a little money to on a product that can stranded you and/or your loved ones on the side of the road? This product has shown me that its quality is lacking and it best to find something else that's a bit better.
