I didn't not see the format information, primarily because I was not looking for it. Mea culpa. I do praise the seller though. I was able to return it for full refund.Upon inspection of the item. It appeared to be in pristine condition and ready for someone with a DVD player encoded by the correct region. I hope this DVD gets sold to a wonderful home.As to the movie: The first movie is laugh out loud funny even for me today. (I found a US formatted version.) The sequel (didn't come with the US version I found) as I recall wasn't as funny, but I remember finishing the movie in a lighter mood having enjoyed my viewing of it.

These dvds will not play on any device at all. I threw my money away. Won’t happen again!

The first time I tried to play it on a computer, it errored out. After a couple tries (restarting the Macbook video player app), it started right up. We love these movies and actually had them on VHS and wanted to be able to watch on computers, so we're completely happy with this format! So....if you have a Macbook you might try it anyway!

It's a film that I have seen and enjoyed very much in the past. But I was very surprised when it would not play on my DVD machine.Actually I still have not figured out as how to view it! But I do have some very intelligent friends who will help me figure out my problem. At another time I enjoy this film a lot and would give it 5 stars!

I really like the first movie, "The Gods Must Be Crazy". I have watched it more than four times and still enjoy it. The sequel is OK, but my favorite is the first one. Plenty of laughs and if you ignore the awful acting of the terrorist, the rest of the movies is well worth the price.

So glad to have found this South African classic. 5stars for the service and vid quality and 4 stars for the movie so that no-one thinks this is an Oscar winner - but it is a fun and very different story, esp great for kids.The first one is one to watch and still worth the price of the set.

TOTALLY HILARIOUS! These films have EVERYTHING! Cross between adventure/lovestory/travelogue and socialDocumentary with 'so-called' primitive Kalahari bushmen poking fun at western civilisation and reminding us that 'so-called' civilisation is not all it's cracked up to be. Given it was made in South Africa during the Apartheid period the producers/writers/ director should get a special Oscar for THE MOST UNIQUE FILM(s) OF ALL TIME. If you do not enjoy EVERY single moment you do not deserve to be called 'human'.

Enjoyed this, right out of my normal range but very different and fun. Different take on modern life.

The first \dvd is excellent, highly amusing and well put together as an engaging comedy. By its self well worth 5*. The second film was not nearly as good being rather disjointed and lacking the clear plot line of the first one, which is why I have rated the package as 4*

So perfect. Why don't they make films like this anymore. Simple, straightforward - and hilarious.
