Insieme a Te

I stumbled upon maestro Safina and was interested in hearing something other than what was available on iTunes (there is not much, I'm afraid). Safina has a very fine voice. The tone is superb. Along with the vibrato, control and dynamics (which is sadly lacking by a lot of tenors, rather, singers in general). He treats each song with respect. Since everyone wants to compare him to Bocelli, I will say it's not a fair comparison, it is comparing apple to apples. Compare a cannon to a ringing bell. Bocelli is a spinto tenor, and Safina is a lyric tenor. Non better than the other, just two different types of "apples". The difference is quite apparent in the tone. Regretfully, Safina has not chosen to pursue the americas and spends his time and effort in Europe instead, so there is little hope of seeing him live (for me). It has been said that this is his best cd to date, but I will purchase the Sognami cd soon and, along with his other fans, am waiting-somewhat impatiently-for the new cd that has been spoken of.

Maybe I was hoping for too much. I first saw and heard Alessandro Safina on the Sarah Brightman DVD, "Symphony Live In Vienna." His duets with SB were nothing less than spectacular.. way better than Bocelli by far and somewhat superior to Mario Frangoulis as cross-over tenors go, plus his appearance enhances his vocal performance. So I thought that this CD would have 4 or 5 entries that were comparably beautiful. No such luck. Only both the Italian and Spanish versions of "Luna" did it. The rest seemed to be a showcase for his undeniably high register but with no rest therefrom. Nevertheless, I'll buy the DVD when it becomes available.

Alessandro Safina has incredible depth and his voice is indescribable. I think of him as dark and mysterious, as opposed to the more "pop" sound of some Josh Groban music or the lighter sound (compared to Safina) of Andrea Boccelli. Safina's music is very relaxing, but thought-provoking and never boring. His voice combines with the music on this CD in a way that makes me want to drift off into fantasy land.

I like his singing but some of his songs have to much of a crash bang ending that is way too loud. Doesn't allow for a peaceful listening.

Yes Mr Safina has a lovely, powerful voice. Unfortunately someone has convinced him that his top notes are wonderful. I don't agree, his voice becomes strained. I prefer him singing more softly, but each song is sung in the same style. Each starts off very promisingly and then reaches these crescendos which don't sit well on my ears (and I don't have anything against crescendos). We all have different tastes and so far Mr Safina has been getting good ratings,except for one other; I'm just sorry I couldn't give him a higher score. I didn't even finish listening to the CD. Perhaps I will give it a another go later.2007-07-16 I have listened again and I suggest that Mr Safina sticks to opera and ballads with better arrangements that suit his voice. His voice is too rich for the feeble arrangements and orchestration(?) on this CD.

Great music!

i bought this after hearing one of his songs, LUNA. The entire cd is beautiful. Music is soaring. This is one of his first cd. I am becoming a big fan of pop opera and he is near the top. I will buy more of his work

Insieme a Te is a wonderful disc for those who enjoy a tenor voice. However, it uses the voice of Alessandro Safina in such a way that it is also appealing to those who prefer other than classical music. A great addition to the diversified music collector.

If you like the great crossover tenors such as Josh Groban, Mario Frangoulis or Vittorio Grigolo, then you will not be disappointed with this album, a tremendous voice and his musical interpretation is first class, super version of this album, and cllaborations with some quality performers and arrangers.
