I don’t use as directed, I take 3 in the evening. 3 hours later, I get groggy enough to fall asleep. For me, 3 hours later I burp a lot but after 10 mins or so it’s much easier to sleep. I took advilpm and 4xcedrin pm for decades, and I like that this is a natural remedy.

First of all, the reviewer who called this a scam clearly doesn't understand FDA regulations or patented formulations of supplements. "Triptopure" IS L-tryptophan. And the FDA doesn't directly regulate ANY supplements, but they have the regulatory power to stop the production of unsafe ingredients in supplements, which they do all the time.Now my review... This brand of L-tryptophan is so far the ONLY one that helps me sleep. I felt the need to deduct one star though because of the price. I have even tried cheaper brands made with "Triptopure", and adding B6 (as this brand's ingredient list indicates), but they still weren't as effective as Pure Encapsulations.My insomnia is due to perimenopause and I have to combine this with melatonin, otherwise I can't sleep through a full night. I'll take this for the rest of my life if I have to, however, as it's a safer option than over-the-counter meds and prescriptions.
