Great images. Great information,
Although this book was a catalog to an exhibition on glass, it has a fascinating subject. Being the head of a newly formed Mount Pleasant Glass Museum I found the subject of glass at the White House fascinating. The main reason is because all three of the glass factories in Mount Pleasant received orders from the White House over the past century. Today although L.E. Smith, Bryce Brothers, and Lenox no longer operate here, the inaugural bowls are still made by master cutter Peter O'Rourke who lives in Mount Pleasant.
