I've got to be honest, when I first started homebrewing mead, I kept reading and hearing everywhere that chemical products and lab-produced nutrients are bad for your mead. "If you want an authentic taste, use raisins!"Honestly I think I'll throw that advice to the wind after using this stuff! My first brews using raisins took a good 2-3 months to finish completely. Fermax cut my primary fermentation down to 20 days, AND the lees is more dense at the bottom of the carboys! Haven't quite gotten around to finishing this batch, but what I've tested tastes just fine.Unless this brew finishes badly and I can attribute it beyond a doubt to the Fermax, I don't think I'll brew much more without this stuff. At some point I'm gonna do an A/B test with one carboy using raisins, the other using Fermax, and see how different they taste.

I highly recommend this product. Keep those yeasties happy when you're making beer, mead, cider or wine. I personally use this for beer to help keep from having stuck fermentations or unintended off flavors. Its a good price too and a little goes a long way.

It did the job quite well and kept my yeast very happy. I was in no way disappointed with this product and would recommend it to others. Fermax kept my yeast kicking in a fairly high alcohol wash environment several times when it started dragging.

*update* it seems they have updated their photo to maybe what their product is. I still wish it came in the bottles again because it was easier to store and reseal. It doesn't look like the bag is resealable.This is our second time purchasing this product from the same supplier. We were pleased the first time we purchased this which is why we bought it again we we were running low in supply. The product still works the same but we weren't as happy to receive it in a sealed bag instead of the bottle that is advertised. This bag is not resealable so if we didn't have the bottle from the previous purchase we would have to find some way to reseal it. False advertising if you switched to the bags and you still have the bottle displayed in the product photos. I'm not sure if we will buy again if we have to keep using the bottle from the first time we bought this. Seems you could drop the price if it is no longer being sold in the bottle. That would change the narrative.
