Great Mold for Chocolate
Great item! Same as shown in pictures. Although I thought it was going to be bigger but was smaller than I thought. Even though it’s not as big as I was hoping it to be, it was actually just the perfect size! I even ordered another one today so I can make more chocolate bars! The bars are the one on the top not the bottom ones. Those were a different mold.

Beautiful chocolates!
GORGEOUS! Made of high quality polycarbonate, thick material. I can bang it on the counter and it doesn’t break. There is one scratch/imperfection on the side but it doesn’t impact the mold. As long as your chocolate is tempered they come out beautifully and easily! The chocolates are a perfect bite size as well. So far I’ve made vanilla, chocolate, and raspberry ganache fillings. They look almost too pretty to eat!

Inexpensive consumer polycarbonate chocolate molds
This review is for the Grainrain line of polycarbonate chocolate molds. They are an inexpensive consumer brand of chocolate molds made in China and sold through Amazon in the US.I recently purchased and have used several of these chocolate molds. Some of them were delivered with just a UPS shipping label stuck on the product box, which I found annoying since I store products such as these in their boxes. One of the molds delivered was not the product I ordered – it had a large Amazon return label stuck on the product box and the contents of the box were from a different brand that had been used, was scratched, and hadn’t been cleaned from someone else’s apparently unsuccessful attempt at chocolate making. Fortunately Amazon’s return service allowed me to readily return via UPS for a full refund.I prefer polycarbonate chocolate molds over the silicone molds that you will also see for sale. I find they give a better finish to the released chocolates. For those of you perhaps trying chocolate making for the first time, be aware all polycarbonate chocolate molds are rigid and require the use of properly tempered chocolate. As tempered chocolate solidifies (crystallizes), it contracts slightly allowing the chilled finished chocolates to release from the mold with no more than a gentle tap. If you do not know how to temper chocolate, you will have a frustrating time as your chocolates will refuse to come out of the mold – if that is the case, then you would be better off with the flexible silicone molds.Regarding the Grainrain chocolate molds, be aware that the chocolate cavities are generally not very large and produce bite-size chocolates. They do not have the size and depth that you may be used to with commercial chocolates (for example, See’s Candy). They are, however, inexpensive relative to professional grade chocolate molds and produce a fine product for personal use or gift-giving (as long as you know how to temper chocolate), particularly if you want to use a collection of different molds with different fillings that could get expensive going with professional molds.
