I am a Smith M&P fan. This did not disappoint!
Great quality! You do need to break it in a bit to get it working smoothly. But I have never had a folding knife I didn't. The spring assist button was a bit tough to use out of the box but I oiled it with some gun oil and worked it for while and came right into it. I saw reviews with people saying it was too tough. Once I broke it in there is no issue. Also use the pad of your finger to use the switch. It is very safe this thing is NOT going off in my pocket. IMO it is a switch blade. Check your state laws on this. My state pretty much allows everything. That research is not had to do. Love it! I am going to buy my brother one for Christmas.

Excellent little knife.
I bought this for my wife (as well as the Model 5L for myself) for her to carry in her purse or car. She's had it two months now and so far it's been perfect. The sliding lock on hers works great, the screws are tight, liner lock is excellent, and it holds a nice edge. I had lock issues with mine right out of the box and had to exchange it (which was relatively painless through Amazon.) Now that we both have good, non-lemon versions, they make a very nice his and hers matching set. We took them both into the backcountry for a week and they did everything we asked of them. I would definitely give the knife a good inspection when it arrives and exchange it if there are any defects. The sliding lock should stay in the locked or unlocked position without moving easily. This is how ours work and we never have problems with them randomly opening. Time will tell if this remains the case, and I'll update if necessary.

Perfect
This is a great knife for anyone who camp, fish or hunt. It's sharp and with a little practice, easy to flip open with 1 hand especially with a "spring" to assist in opening the entire way once you start openness it. I highly recommend this pocket knife.

Nice knife
Nice addition to my EDC. feels sturdy and solid. came very sharp and the assisted opening functions easily and quickly. I like that there's a solid safety on it as well.Edit: my only real "complaint" of the knife is the safety is only on the left side, so if you're left handed you need to get comfortable using a finger to release the safety. In the right hand it's very easy to use your thumb, then use your finger to activate the assisted opening. Not enough to knock a star off, but thought I should bring it up because it might matter to someone.

Great knife, but difficult to open
I love this knife for a lot of reasons. First, it came out of the box razor sharp. Second, this is an EDC knife for me, and it is set up, in my opinion, for my left-hand pocket. I am a righty, but carry my knife on the left side. When I pull the knife from my pocket the assisted opening lever is right next to my index finger. Here is the only downside to the knife, the assisted opening is difficult to open and requires a decent amount of finger strength. I have used other S&W knives, and all others have been easier to open. Maybe this is specific to only this knife, but I figured I would offer the FYI.Note: I am a 6 foot 165-pound male, with average size hands.

Great Knife
This is my third S&W knife. I'm a collector, but also use certain ones for everyday use. When I saw this one's listing, I was immediately drawn to it's style & the shape of the blade. When I read on & saw it had MAGIC Assisted open, I just had to have it. This is definitely not a case of form over function. The blade opens lightning fast, & is extremely sharp. It is made from 4034 Steel, which is very high quality. Another point I should make about this knife is that it's super-compact. When closed, it is very small, easily kept in a pocket, etc. Just as good quality as some knives I've spent several times this $ on. Beautiful, will get any job done, highly recommend.

Moving on
Was a nice knife to carry for work. Problem is I have gone threw 4 of them in 5 years. They just dont last.

Honestly really happy about the fact I bought it.
Honestly I be never wrote a review for this when I bought it but just recently I bought 2 new knives from different companies and they just don’t compare to this one. I am also a fan the I can but the safety on after opening the blade as an added security measure to prevent the blade from closing.
