So far so good - Tarragon still fresh after 8 days!
While I find this gizmo too expensive and very difficult to open - water spills all over - it's keeping a bunch of tarragon very effectively. When I brought it home from supermarket, I cut 1 inch off bottom of stems before putting it into the herb keeper. Still green and perky more than a week later, when if kept in plastic container it comes in, or even transferred into a zipper plastic bag, it would have deteriorated.Price needs to come way down before I'd purchase a couple more for parsley and coriander, both regulars in my fridge.

Pathetic at Best
So, I've had this contraption for about 2 weeks, and last week I finally gave it a whirl with some cilantro. My partner and I tend to use Cilantro for a huge percentage of our meals and it's really nice to have a bunch of it, fresh and ready to go. I had been using jars filled with water, and refreshing it every other day or so with effective, though space-consuming success. When I saw this item, I thought it would be a more effective and space saving way to handle this task.Problem 1: Opening the thing. You recieve a capsule looking object with a clear plastic window so you can see the current status of the herbs. That's great! But how do you open it? I had to go onto youtube to find a video where someone opened it. It turns out that you pinch the clear plastic. Their own video shows that this is what you need to do, and that you shouldn't be worried about it breaking. Which is exactly what it did today, with a nasty, severe crack down the middle.Problem 2: It doesn't work. Our cilantro was fine for the first two or three days in the Fridge. We swapped the water out daily. But by day 4, we noticed that the leaves were getting wilted and spotted, the control batch literally Right next to it using the previous method was Fine. By day 6, the leaves were more slimy than not and dark green. The water, which again was changed Daily, was a dark green/brown shade every time it was dumped. It was here that we managed to crack the clear plastic, following the instructions on its First use, to remove the ruined cilantro.Normally I can make a bunch of cilantro last up to 3 weeks in a jar of water covered with a thin plastic bag. This didn't last a week and broke in the process.Would I recommend this? No.You're better off with basically any other solution than this poorly engineered piece of plastic.

Amazing!
We bought this to take on a 2 1/2 month boat cruise and we’re totally blown away! We picked some sage, cilantro, and basil and put it in this and it lasted for four weeks! We couldn’t believe it. When you’re out on a boat and anchor for weeks at a time having fresh vegetables and Herbs luxury. Keeping them fresh for a longer period of time helps realize that luxury.

A pretty good product, could be bigger
I'm fairly happy with this product. I'm on my third week of keeping cilantro in it and it's doing OK. After two weeks I started seeing a few yellow leaves and that continues. These are easy to pick out and the rest of the bunch is fine. Besides changing the water every few days, I think I'll try washing the keeper every week, to eliminate any mold spores, and see if that doesn't help extend the life of my cilantro. My main gripe is that the keeper is small. A large bunch of cilantro barely fits and getting the cover closed, with all the leaves inside, is a minor hassle. If you're currently keeping your cilantro in a glass of water, or something like that, this will definitely be a major improvement.

Fantastic Product!
What you should know first, is that this picture makes the product look smaller than it really is. The slim one here is approximately the size of an 18 oz. bottle of soda (for fridge to unit comparison). Overall the product works amazingly, it keeps the herbs fresh longer and keeps the smell of the herbs separate from the rest of the fridge. removing the front can be difficult if you haven't removed it in a while (and forgotten how to...). The material is solid and stylish, I've had no defects and am very pleased with the product. If you use lots of herbs I would recommend this product for you. But if you Really use LOTS of herbs of the same kind I would get the larger version of the containers, If you get LOTS of various herbs, a few of these products would be a good idea.

This Really Works!
Herb Saver Best Keeper is amazing! I got a bunch of fresh parsley and it stayed super fresh and delicious in the refrigerator for over three weeks. I was able to use everything without wasting even a leaf. I now have fresh basil in it. And you know what? I got the basil looking a tad bit wilted. But when I put it in this awesome container, the leaves perked up. Now it is super fresh and ready for salads and other Italian dishes. Get it! You won't regret it!
